So I'm chillin at my cousins birthday party and a guest sits down next to me pulls her iPhone out Anne asks what is that ur using... I answer "oh its the new evo 4g" "do u mean the droid" "yes its an android" I then proceed to show all the features her phone does not have...

She states I sold her at the fact it has widgets and a more open environment... I told her she can also tether via usb without "jailbreak" as she stated...

In then end she called her friend the VZW rep and told her she will be ditching the iPhone and getting a droid or EVO

1 down on my end fellas

Let's hear ur stories...

I did the same thing with a friend. He is ditching AT&T and getting Sprint for the Evo. I just hope he is satisfied with their service.

She sounds like she has very little knowledge on Android, I would suggest that she read up and see if it fits her.

As an iphone user until last week, what's the difference between a widget and an app? Is it similar to a Mac or PC where the widget has a small function that it's always just doing and an app is the equivalent of a program? If so, I agree that the lack of widgets on the iphone is a noticeable difference.

Most iPhone users (I know) barely use the potential of the iPhone OS. Most don't even use apps. They just browse, text, and listen to music.

I dumped Att but am not sold on Sprints service at all yet. A great phone on a lousy network isn't much of a phone to me, and I experienced enough of that with the iPhone. The more I check around in my area, the more apparent that Verizon or Tmobile is my best option. I definitely don't want windows mobile though, which hurts Tmoibile, and I despise the high prices Verizon charges. So many choices and options. Yeesh. Not rushing though.

I actually got pretty in depth with my Run thru of the EVO

She was impressed and most likely getting the Incredible buttttttt

the Work was done via EVO...

I would of Showed off the Video Chat but my buddies are working

The thing I recommend you do is get the carrier that fits you. If Sprint has crappy coverage in your area, drop them. Go with the carrier that is the best for YOU. but get an android phone :)

I switched from Att and iPhone to Evo... its simply great. I think that even 3G is faster on Sprint than what i had on Att... at least here in Columbus, Oh.

This is simply the most awesom phone ever ;) I justified switching to Sprint with the idea that the worst case scenario would be that the network would suck as much as Att - nothing can beat that ;)

Sent from my Evo using Tapatalk (get this app NOW!)

You can tether via usb on the EVO? Does it still cost money?

Thats what I need to know because on my iPhone I could use my phone as a hotspot and it was only a flat fee of $10

funny, thats has been said about the iphone and att lol, trust me I can guarante Sprints service is atleast as good as att's (in actuality its better Id say)

I converted my girlfriend's roommate last night. He walked in the door and I immediately started showing it to him... he went outside to smoke a cigarette and asked if he could take it with him to play around with it. He came back in and said, "this phone is sick, I would so get it if it wasn't so bulky." I go, "dude, I have a case on it, (the Sprint branded Body Glove)." He goes, "ohhhhhhh, take it off, lemme see what it feels like bare." I took it off and handed it to him. He goes, "WOW, that feels sooo different, it actually feels really nice, I'm definitely getting this now." Not gonna say it was all the Evo that convinced him... he is also sick of the ridiculous plan prices on ATT.

Oh, and I don't know if this counts, but my girlfriend still has a Palm Centro. I've tried to get her to switch phones for 2 years now, she won't budge. I tried to get her to get the Pre when it came out, she wouldn't. Tried to get her to get the TP2, she wouldn't. The second I got home with the Evo, she played with it for about 5 mins, and stated, "I'm getting this phone." 2 Converts in one day... Sprint should be paying me.

I'm going to see what Apple announces on Monday, but barring a huge surprise, Android here I come.

Download PDANET and you can tether for free. Sprint said they won't block it.
