Just Got 4.4.4 Via Kies, Verizon

Tried today. Been looking for 4.4.4 for awhile so I can try out Google wallet. No luck today again. :(

I was wanting the same thing. I have Google Wallet support working on a solution on this. I've been through tier 2 support and waiting on the next step. If successful, I'll post their answer.

I was under the assumption that Verizon was going to skip 4.4.4 and go straight to Android 5.0 Lollipop early next year?

Please do. I have been waiting for this one for awhile. I gave up recently and tried out a Moto X but then wound up returning it and using my Note 3. I plan on upgrading to a Note Edge soon so, that point might be mute. I am waiting for my account to get fixed before I order another device.

Any downfalls to updating via Kies Vs waiting for the regular push update? If by Kies will I still get future VZW pushed updates? Thanks

There is no downside to using Kies 3.0 to update, and that will Not have any effect on receiving a future OTA update.

The upside to using Kies is you might get it a few days or weeks before the OTA is sent to your phone.

for people that got 4.4.4 from Kies, are you still also getting that irritating software update box every day on your phone?

I used Kies and got 4.4.4 but I still get that box for system update and I just cancel out of that

I also called Verizon and they show I have the latest update

I used Kies and have not seen a system update box show up like you describe. So far my phone is performing as it did before. The battery life seems like it is better than it was.

Detroit1, so you actually got an OTA software update notification for 4.4.4 even though you got it from kies? They are rolling it out OTA?

Just flashed the firmware using Odin so far so good though the keyboard seems a little laggy and Kids mode is unable to be downloaded at this time lots of security features it seems like but haven't gotten into them at all seems a tad faster...First time ever flashing anything and I gotta say it's easy as pie.

Where did you go to get the firmware and what version of Odin did you use?

Just the few minutes I've had this update the difference so far on the is Note 3 is my Wi-Fi will actually stay connected now.My haptic feed back for the keyboard is working again. Fixed the lag in the keyboard by clearing the cache kids mode is however a no go it's in this update but it's currently not an active Samsung app yet I was told it will be in the next update so idk if it'll be in the official version Verizon releases or what..1 thing I dislike is the flashlight button is kinda ugly. They added a bunch of security options but whopeee on that. My data connection is way better I have 4 bars of 4glte instead of 2 or 3.. and that's about it hopefully it'll make my battery last a little longer but I won't get my hopes up.

One thing I've just noticed is a really huge improvement in uploading speed it use to take forever to backup my videos over wifi now it's (maybe it's just me) almost twice as fast..Which it usually seems like it takes forever since I take them in 1920×1080

Yesterday I used Kies and got the 4.4.4. no problems except it shows 4.4.4 in about phone but I also clicked on system updates and it is showing software update availlable and now it will bother the hell out of me every day with that message. I didn't want to click that system update but I did

does anyone know how to get that stupid update box to stop showing up every day. again, my phone shows 4.4.4 in the about phone so I don't even know what the system update software is?

It should be showing this once you update to the latest.. I have not had any pop ups since flashing it via Odin..

I spoke with a Verizon rep online tonight and she told me that the NJ6 firmware is rolling out and to expect it soon. Might wait it out till Monday and or Tuesday but I'll flash it if it hasn't hit by then. Sounds like the new build is pretty smooth no serious bugs?

I haven't noticed any bugs, the only thing I have experienced is poor data.. However, I am still on the unlimited data plan and use about 30 to 40g per month.. As a matter of fact I am sitting at 54 g used so far this month.. hahah I know they love me!
