Just got a CR-48

Yeah or it just wasnt delivered to me, and it went to some other non-appreciative hick in my town :'(

Dont think it was stolen though i live in a good area. (kinda. lol)

Oh well, dont feel bad, i got a tracking number from that online tool, and notice it was going to my zip code, i called UPS to track it and found out it was not my address. Oh well.

I agree. I'm not sure they would have it open if they weren't still accepting people for it. Of course they could be taking apps and being very selective. Either way I hope I get picked.

I would imagine there are still plenty to give out. The manufacturer made 60,000 for Google. I would assume that they kept quite a few for themselves and internal testing. Even so I would guess there would be about 50,000 to distribute to test users. They are sending quite a few to business testers and education testers as well. I would guess that many will be getting one.

I've had mine since Thursday now and am extremely pleased. I have been limited with what I can do only a few times. I think by they time they are ready to release to the general public Chrome will be an amazing OS choice.

Dont wanna be the party pooper of those links.. but i highly doubt it's accuracy. I looked at the list and the earliest one there with my zip, shows a delivery date of the 15th which obviously isn't me. I got mine on the 9th and not one on that entire list shows ANY being sent or delivered BEFORE the 10th.


UPDATE: http://addicted-gamer.com/cr48-tracker/ Ok this one DEFINITELY seems legit!! According to this it shows two shipped AND received on the 9th which is when I received mine. I also think that I'm wrong about that pastie link, that might be accurate. Because the one I mentioned originally having a delivery date of the 15th, is also there. SOO the pastie link might be of the latest batch, not of the past batches.

UPDATE 2: ok... that link i posted. 100% definitely the right one. I clicked on the two that it said was delivered..... one of them was mine!!! same tracking numbers, same name, same time same everything!

There was a big UPS box in the mailroom portion of my building and I didn't take a good look. I registered as soon as gizmodo reported on the program. It couldn't be.............

Wait, so what does this mean, exactly? I didn't read this whole thread. If I put in my ZIP code on this site, it'll tell me if a CR-48 is heading to my town?

Man I hope Google is choosing the right people for this, not people who do not understand what they are trying to do with Chrome

I think I have one waiting for me at my local depot. They won't leave it on my porch because I had an issue with a phone getting stolen so now everything has to be signed. Will keep you posted.

If I were Google those would be the exact people I would want testing my product. I would want average, everyday users to give input and track use. The "right" people you refer to would be those who consider themselves highly technological. Google hires the best of the best of these kind of people and more than likely does not need input sent to them telling of a better way to program something within Chrome. To me, I want everyday users to use the internet as they would on a regular basis and to report back on what works and what needs work. This input is going to be what makes Chrome the best it can be for the average user.

Mmm....it seems like google has stopped shipment of the netbooks. Perhaps they want to give the rest away as puzzles?

Or they caught onto the tracker and changed they way they were shipping them.

Like a moron, I went in and registered by accident showing a new pro-Android coworker how to register for the CR-48 and I registered again.

I just came upon this after putting the kids to bed and see two coming to my zipcode. What are the odds they don't deliver them to me b/c I registered twice? How sick is it that I am this obsessed over it?

Do you think most folks registered more than once? I will be devastated if this prevents it.....

I registered twice on accident as well. Showing a friend. I filled out the basic one for him as an example (eyesight problems), after I filled out the full application on the goog.com/chromenotebook earlier today. I hope this doesn't hurt my chances.

My friend got his today, and I'm so jealous. He's loving it. Like me, he uses his Macbook for everything, but mainly music and audio production/editing. He's planning on switching all of his web-use to the Chrome OS and keeping his macbook free and clean for music production only. I need to do the same thing.

Please almighty Google!!! Send one this way!!
