Just got a CR-48

Just called UPS, neither package to my zipcode (small town in Rhode Island) is to my address.

Super depression sets in and takes control.....

Well guess what, my cousin got one. He lives in the sticks so he used my address. So now i have a Cr-48 unopened, and in my neighbors house because im out and about til thursday.

My cousin would never know...

Nah. I'll call him tomorrow. Hopefully i can hold out.... :o

More shipped

Well, I just checked my zip again and I see two new ones shipped to my city on 12/14, so it looks like more are going out...

Unfortunately I'm not getting a link to track it...

More fun with your Cr-48

Something to try. In the omnibox, type about:flags. This gives you an opportunity to enable some additional experimental capabilities. I've turned on the file system and the music player among other things. The system now recognizes when I insert an SD Card but it doesn't do much after that. Music player doesn't seem to be functional either. I'm going to leave them turned on to see what future updates bring.

This also works in Chrome browser, with a different set of experimental goodies to enable.

Enjoy!

For anybody that got a confirmation Email From Google about getting a CR-48, can you post a screen shot of the email, curious to see what this thing looks like.

DUUUDE good find!! I can confirm that the Media Player works. I went to Zedge.net and downloaded a random ringtone. When I clicked on the MP3 in the downloads it opened the Media Player :) I'm gonna create a thread with some tips n tricks for the CR-48 I'll be sure to credit you for this one.

Chrome has adopted the "about:" from Mozilla, although the specific operands are not identical. I strongly suggest Googling on each before you try it. Most are benign. I've noted two that cause actions, helpful to the developer but unfortunate to the typical user.

about:cache
about:crash *danger! This will crash the page that it is issued in!
about:dns
about:flags
about:hang *danger! This will hang the page that it is issued in!
about:histograms
about:internets
about:memory
about:network
about:plugins
about:stats
about:version
view-cache: view-source:[URL]

By the way, those are for Chrome the browser, not necessarily for Chrome the OS. I imagine there might be other "about"s for the OS but haven't gotten wind of any yet.

Terms and Conditions

Ok, I didn't take the time to read the full Terms and Conditions on the CR-48 (I was a little too excited). After the roughly 6 month period they are testing these, do we get to keep them? Will they continue to do updates?

Overall I really like it so far. It definitely has its bugs, but I love the size (which I thought I would hate). I really wanted an Android Tablet next year (and will probably still get one), but I think this is much more useful to carry around with a full keyboard, but still being so compact. Plus, the Verizon Wireless, though is a nice feature that is built in.

I got mine today. I swear somewhere I saw you got unlimited verizon 3g service... no you get a free 100mb a month for two years, with the option to buy more on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis... no contracts. :D

THIS THING IS SWEET!!!!!!!!
