Just got a CR-48

I registered 3 people and all going to my address because they live in the sticks. Hope this doesn't kill my chances...

nerds

I think the nerds at google should be fully capable of putting this thing through a stress-test, they probably want feedback on how user friendly it is or isn't...

So if one shows up at ur doorstep and its not yours are you really going to give it away or tell ur friends that only you received one??? You will be tested!! lol

The Tracker is real, and no prior notification

I will say that the addictedgamer.com tracker is the real thing. There was one entry for my zip code and I applied last Thursday. I called to confirm a different package, I thought what the hell I'll read off this other tracking number and see if it's me, and they read my address back to me. And along with a digital camera from Amazon, I had a new CR-48 waiting on my doorstep as well. I never got an email or any type of notification. Be patient, supposedly they have just begun to ship and have close to 50,000 left. It comes in an unmarked box from Louisville KY, and comes with no instructions, not that you need any; pop the battery in, charge it, fire it up, get online.

I haven't really tested it yet so it wouldn't be my place to write a review, and like its been said before, its not a laptop, its a netbook. It really has no offline functions, but it's not supposed to. It utilizes all of Googles online products and Chrome apps to the fullest.

Well that's it. Best of luck to everyone. If you get one, remember it's because you're testing it, so send some feedback. Keep an eye out and good luck.

You got an email saying you will be getting one?
No, I got an email asking me to apply for the pilot program. I filled out the application and got the laptop a day or two later. I was fully expecting an email or something from them.

The only way I knew it was the machine was after opening it and recognizing it from seeing pictures on ZDNet.

I just applied for one. I thought you had to be a developer for some reason. I applied as an individual though.

I'm not going to lie I completely missed the boat on this one. Still Registration is apparently still open so I submitted mine today.

I would Love to get one of these machines. My primary computer (aside from the one I use 8 hours a day at work) is a old EeePC 900 and basically all I ever use the thing for is running chrome anyway. The CR-48 is is the perfect evolution of my EeePC... all of the best features (like the SSD) it keeps or improves on, and all of the parts that were less than great (like the Keyboard/tiny ass trackpad) it fixes.

I didn't even know there was a tracker when I got mine. I looked it up after the fact and it was on there.

All this waiting is killing me. I keep going back to the tracker and updating it to no avail. I signed up on 12/10 after 4p and Google hasn't shipped any since then. There have been 3 that have gone to my zip so far but none for me, of course. I live in LA so it's probably a slim chance I will get anything anyway.

You and I are pretty similar. I missed the boat on this as well..just submitted an application a few minutes ago lol. *fingers crossed* - I use an eeePC 700...you know, the first ones out before they started making these better ones with big screens and better battery life and everything. My keyboard is like 75% the size of a normal keyboard (exaggerating, of course. I forgot the actual percentage. 93%?), so I know how you feel.

I'll be hoping both of us get one!

I signed up about a week or so ago. I can't believe people are getting them who didn't even sign up.:D

Still, I better get one or I'm tracking one of you down.....;)

It's not my fault, I must of had a lucky day.

I saw my information on the tracker. I don't believe people are getting them without ever signing up. Facebook had a survey relating to the Chrome OS that got some people signed up, whether they knew it or not. UPS will verify a shipping address if you call with the tracking number, if you want to be sure, or you can let it be a surprise.

Well I would believe it because thats exactly how I got signed up. I took the quiz on Google Chrome's Facebook page and it said I would receive a Chrome sticker. I knew nothing about the chrome os notebook they were sending out until i I received mine and read about it on engadget after the fact.

THATS IT!!! That's how I got it!! I took that same quiz on Facebook! HAHA this is one hell of a sticker!! LOL!!
