Just got an XS...

iPhone no always on display, no theme store,
Safari iOS 13, does not have true black mode like Samsung internet has.
Safari can’t get my bookmarks from chrome.
With safari I don’t no how import my password from chrome. I used LastPass instead
Few other things like ePub hard to upload without a Mac computer. Have to use android phone.
Can’t view different groups on telegram With iOS. But with Android you can.
Few things I notice.

Now I know why people like Android

Few reason to get iOS is better privacy, better apps, better quality games, 5 or 6 years of updates, fast updates , better resale value, better customer support,
On iOS iPhone you can still use google apps and chrome And it’s syncing where you left off.

Been tempted to at least get an iPod with a touch screen. Just so I can at least get a feel for the GUI environment from Apple.

I agree with the idea of "keeping a toe in the water". I have an iPad and it keeps me familiar with iOS and their UI. Even considered a X when they came out to keep in a drawer .. Still might do that one day.

So i just purchased an iPhone XS 512GB version for a mere USD$1200.which is actually cheap when "official stores" here are selling it for USD$1760.And first thing i noticed was... Its not much of a difference compared to my last iPhone 7 Plus(yeah yeah it has the latest A99 Bionic Robotic Arm bla bla). And comparing it side by side with my S10P it made me wonder what the hell did i buy. There is almost nothing great about the XS which a lot of fanboys are proud about. Only thing i can be proud of my XS is the text replacement...

Other than the text replacement, and the "ease" of use. Its literally like an overpriced basic phone. Owh yeah and the ENDLESS UPDATES... And the Apple will always support their phones. Come on even i who have just finished setting it up already feel conned.

Well, ill update in a few days to see if anything else changes. And for those who use an S10 series and an IOS device feel free to drop your personal comparisons. Not from youtube or reddit or whatsoever...

Thank you guys.

Long update, nice looking GUI, better apps, better privacy (every individual app must request location services) being vibration motor, silent switch and longer updates (keep it for 5 years).

That's what you're paying for? If I didn't already invest in Samsung I'd do the same...

I had to use an iPhone for work a few months ago because one of the apps we used wasn't optimized for android, so for about 5 months I used an iPhone 6s Plus. The phone operated and performed well, took good photos and all that. But I just did not like how constrained the software was, and it was rather bland for my tastes. I like having a lot of control within my phone, and I especially like being able to customize as well. So after I left that job, the first thing I did was sell the iPhone and got me a good used android to tithe me over until I could afford a better one.

I had an XS Max and there was literally very little difference from the iPhone X, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6 Pluses I had before it. Yeah, it has some hardware differences, but the software makes them all basically the same. I don't know how people in the Apple world get excited about new iDevices when they're all basically the same damn thing.

That being said, I love my S10+, but I'm looking forward to the Note 10.

So youre saying that if you didnt buy a Samsung you wouldve bought an iPhone? Im still hanging on to both the s10p and xs hahaha.

$1760 USD like you mean the United states dollar? If so who in the heck is selling this phone for that? That's higher than retail.

Yes one thousand seven hundred and sixty United States Dollar... Just another day in Indonesia. And since i got it at US$500 cheaper. Then i suppose its a good deal. Haha.

If I had to pick and own, only 1 Apple product, for me it would be ab iPad. Best tablet on the market!

After 3 days of using the XS.i can definitely say that the XS has better signal reception(using the same sim).

And the XS has crappy speakers...battery life so far is on par with my S10P...

I picked up an S10 Plus 512 ceramic black on launch day. Great device. Love it... except Google changed their API's. Now, notification badges are for new messages, not unread messages. If I look at a message and mark it unread, I want the badge to stay. Also, I wanted both personal and work lines on one device -- impossible here in Canada, unless buying the International version, which Samsung will not service here.

A new company policy required everyone to use iOS devices for security, use of iMessage, and an internal app built for iOS only. So, I now have an iPhone Xs Max 256. Very similar size and weight, screen good in sunlight (built by Samsung). Notification badges are for unread, not new messages. Popped in my sim, and use the E-sim for business line.

I use Nine for email/calendar/contacts/tasks, same as I used on the S10 Plus. Google Maps, Photos, Play Music, Chrome & Edge, Onedrive, Feedly, Accuweather, LastPass, Plex, banking apps are all essentially the same. Battery life is almost as good as the S10 Plus, still enough to get me through a busy day. Wireless charging is slightly slower, but still works for me. Face ID works better than the S10 Plus FP reader did, and is an option for most apps that require security. The camera is about even - some areas are as good or better, some not as good, but it evens out for my usage.

Would I prefer to stick with Android and all the customization? Yes. But to my surprise, this iPhone is working surprisingly well for me. I've had the iPhone for a little over 2 weeks and I think I'll be sticking with it. My S10 Plus will likely be showing up on the Marketplace sometime soon.

I just picked up a S10+ and noticing weak signal compared to my XS Max. I'm considering returning it.
