Just got camera update for unlocked/USA

I want to know this as well. I am on the fence about the Note 9 and Pixel 3 XL. I will gladly wait as Black Friday is right around the corner. I wish a youtuber would do a solid comparison of the Note 9 camera pre and post update.

I have both phones. I love the Note 9 a lot but the camera continues to frustrate and disappoint me. The Pixel 3 XL's camera continues to blow me away if for just being consistent. Hardly ever a bad photo. With the Note 9, I was always battling blurry photos in addition to the photo app lagging sometimes (viewfinder would just freeze for a few seconds, slow to go in and out of app), sometimes it wouldn't take a photo when pressing button and just battling the quality of the photos.

I will miss the S-Pen and overall power of the Note 9, but the camera on the Pixel 3 XL is not overrated...if that is a top feature, then it is for sure something to consider.

How good is the improvement at the update. Are you folks who are unhappy feel better now?

It isn't so much of being unhappy but frustrated with the camera performance. Will give it a good test this weekend. But I am unsure if my October Verizon update contained the camera update or not.

No update here. I HATE the camera. It sucks bc i take a lot of pics and yes, i have a dslr but you naturally just grab your phone most of the time. Im actually thinking of getting a different phone now. Maybe an iphone, maybe a Pixel or the Huwaii (or however u spell it) that Flossy reviewed the other day.

The camera is important to me. As much as i love my Note, a ****ty camera is a dealbreaker.

My cat woke up and was grooming, so i thought i'd snap some pics. Decent lighting. Shes grooming slowly bc she's sleepy-should be no problem to catch.

Utter garbage. Blurry photos, not ONE decent one, not one clear catch of her tongue out. Fur looks all liquidy-why? These are photos from a 1k phone?

That's what's frustrating about looking to upgrade from my pixel 2 xl. Samsung makes such great hardware, and i can use launchers and icon packs/themes to get close to stock Android, but i can't downgrade to a camera like that. The s9+ camera was disappointing enough that i didn't even consider using it for myself and it looks like they haven't upgraded much for the note 9.

I think you guys saying camera sucks should look in the stickies camera forum and see some very nice shots taken by their note 9 phone .

Not everyone experiencing camera issues
the ones that are should wait for a update or return your phone for another one .

Can you post your camera settings?

Definitely makes me feel more confident about likely going with the Note 9 in a couple weeks. While I'd still prefer the Pixel 3 (XL) camera, the audio recordings are a major turnoff for me. Plus, the Note 9 is easier to do since I'm on AT&T's new every 12-month plan.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the Note 9 👍
You'll probably get a good deal by now from AT&T. Hope to see you soon with your brand new Note
