Just got gingerbread ota!!

With this update the Fassy finally becomes the phone I thought I bought. The GPS is INSTANT. Even indoors. My Quadrant score went from 650s to 1150. And the cool GO locker screen finally works.

On the downside I have to redo all my settings, but it's a small price to pay.

Been running Powerwashed Gingerbread debloated rom for some time now and am very happy with it. Unless the OTA has some compelling advantages I am going to stay put at least until GN comes out.

Just saw the post on the homepage. Downloading it now. I went back to stock earlier this week cause I'm selling this phone when the Galaxy Nexus comes out. Only took Verizon a year to get this phone on Gingerbread.

My last annual upgrade is available 12/09/11 and I have been thinking about trading in my Fascinate for the Galaxy Nexus. I'm interested to see if having GB on the Fascinate will keep me from upgrading right now. I think the Galaxy Nexus will be hard to resist. Since I won't be able to upgrade again for two years I want to get something that will last for that long. That's one of the big reasons I'm leaning towards the Galaxy Nexus since I figure, being a Nexus phone, it will get all of the major upgrades (or most of them) during that 2-year period.

I am resiting it because it does not have an SD slot...

Son of a monkey, why can't this phone run wind-up knight now that it has gingerbread?!?!!?

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I have a few questions for those running the OTA EH03.

Does your screen still lock up after scrolling around a bit in Google maps?

Does your phone have an option to encrypt the SD card like Verizon claims? Does it work?

Does the voice search feature work in google nav or maps?

These are the only 3 reasons I can think of that would make me do the OTA version of EH03. I have been running the leaked version and it works great other than these bugs. Did Verizon fix them before releasing it officially?

The EH03 Gbread for our phone was leaked a couple weeks ago, and I immediately flashed.

I did have FC issues with Maps while on it, and multi-touch (spinning the map) was difficult.

I can confirm.

I went to pool party though : ) SO I can't speak for the other issues.

A quick test of the OTA update: my screen does not lock up while scrolling in Maps. Voice search seems to work fine. There is no multi-touch rotating in Maps. My GPS locks on nearly instantly and it even locked in the house. Also, my signal strength is much higher than ever before, even in places where I have never gotten a signal before. But, alas, no 4G (I was hoping!).

Finally this is the phone that it should have been all along!

I have been running this EH03 leak for weeks also. I want to know if Verizon fixed the bug before the OTA. It stayed EH03 for the OTA but did they change it slightly?
