Just got my Tab form Amazon and WOW!

I got my tab delivered form Amazona and WOW! The screen is AMAAAZZINNNG!!! Showed it my buddies at Apple and they too were blown away by the screen. The setup was so fast.

The browser is insane: I went to SI.com since its draft day and i can see the whole site. Videos and all.

The screen: Its so smooth. My boss owns the iPad2 and she was surprised by the smoothness of the scree.

The build: Its so light. I was going to go with the Transformer but I dont think i can go that route.

Storage: best thing to do is put your stuff on the cloud. And if you need to go away from a WiFi connection just transfer the stuff to your tab.

The only thing im waiting for is the USB adapter and Mac support.

The Audio is great. I got an episode of South Park and used the media player that came with the tab and saw a 5.1 button and was really pleased with the audio. No matter what position i had it it sounded really good.

The camera: Camera is awesome. Again, I know some techies at Apple and were amazed by the camera. Personally, I do agree it is really good compared to the iPad2

I know $500 is a lot of money to drop now a days. I was looking at almost every single tablet out there for the last month, even the low end tablet on Woot. It came down to the Sammy, Toshiba, and Transformer. I was looking to get on the internet without bringing out a laptop, doing some LIGHT word processing, some games and media.

I was not able to get my hands on a transformer and the Thrive is not out yet. I did play around with the Viewsonic, Acer, and Xoom. I am a tech and I try to approach devices in an unbiased way. The only tablet I can compare this thing to is the iPad since I do have extensive experience with it. For me, the Galaxy works since I have a strong laptop (Macbook Pro) I can access. Of course the Galaxy Tab has cons to it like any device from any manufacturer. No SD card slot or no type of USB connector, but again those are adapters that will come out soon.

I also just got mine yesterday and boy am I impressed.

I love the speed of the thing. From what people had said I thought this thing was going to be slow, but its not, even with a lot of widgets.

The build quality is amazing and so is the weight.

I have the ipad 2 and blackberry playbook. All of the tablets have their pro's and con's but the galaxy tab is definitely my favorite as of now.

The only thing I am unimpressed with is flash video playback, its acceptable, but the playbook wipes the floor with the galaxy tab when it comes to flash playback.

easynews is a subscription based newsgroup provider. Newsgroups (in case you don't know) are like bulletin boards that these days are used heavily to drop media files. Easynews has a great web based interface where you can tell it to only return video, or mp3 results named _____ and you can download it straight from there as fast as your connection can handle without needing a newsgroup client.

In all honesty I can see this thing de-throning the iPad if the lower the price by $50 or have some kind of $50 incentive

for those still on the fence, some luck ebayers have a 10% coupon in their inbox and can use it to order a tab from tigerdirect.
after discount, tax and shipping, you're looking at $460 instead of $540 if u bought one from BB (after paying tax)

I was all set to pull the switch but I have two things holding me back.
1) I need to send the tab overseas this sunday

2) I do get some upromise and BB cash back so the delta was more like $60 and I did not want to take the risk of a faulty tab and having to deal with an online entity and samsung for repair/replacement.

in that regard, I don't think any company on the face of this planet can touch apple's customer service (if u have a store in town)

You are right..I used to be Apple customer service. It is a really good CONSUMER service. But, lets take a look at the PC side. HP does outsell Apple and they dont have a retail store. It looks like Sammy would have to back up this Tab with good service.
