Just got the official OTA

Didn't feel at all like my n7 was running smoothly after I installed and rebooted. So I did what I always do on an update and Factory reset. All seems to be running nicely now so far.

I can't seem to get face recognition unlock to work in any way shape or form. I put my face in a couple of times but it won't recognize me.

SECOND PROBLEM: Stupid camera icon lower right corner of lock screen. If you swipe to unlock ANYWHERE NEAR there, it launches the camera. How stupid. I can't seem to find out how to remove the camera from the lock screen.

This release is the most CHANGE for CHANGE'S SAKE of any so far to date IMHO. It makes the thing look like some horrid Apple product the way they got all the white space and flat artwork. Blechhhh.

I noticed swiping left on the lock screen opens the camera. That could be your experience.

Installed the update yesterday and now having problems. Whenever I try to play a video, the video will start for a few seconds then the app will immediately close. Screen dims and brightens at irregular times, some apps wont start or run. I have no idea what to do except hope for a patch of some kind. Ugh.

Downloaded the update last night, and after hitting the install/reboot button my NEXUS 7 will not work. It will not reboot or power up. Its been on charge for over a day. When you try starting it with the power button, it shows the Google Icon and begins to dim and then the screen goes black. I tried to do a manual reboot (holding down the power and decrease volume buttons together and selecting reboot) and it does the same thing. I can't even get it to turn on now. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the MX Player fix. Nightly build works like a charm. Lollipop runs smooth so far. One of the biggest first impressions. My Nexus 7 now works with double pairing of a bluetooth mouse and keyboard (using the microsoft wedge keyboard and mouse combo)....works ridiculously well with both added bluetooth pieces and with wifi on. YES!!! #gamechanger

I had notification of the update availability, but waited and now it's gone. Will I get it back? Thanks.

Edit: I see after looking around a bit that I'm not the only one. ;-)

Updated my 2012 Nexus 7 the other night and I am underwhelmed by the "improvements." I am also ticked-off to find that my Kindle app no longer properly displays the contents of the e-books. In addition, my ESPN app now clutters up my notifications panel and it never did that before. Is my next step clearing the cache for each app? Other options beyond that?
Also, I am having problems that have been mentioned above: odd dimming, very slow performance. Have we gone back in time to when it took a day or more just to get a cellphone to work? :(

Is Adaptive Brightness enabled under Display settings? That can cause the dimming. Also, clearing the cache partition can help with some app issues.

Tried to clear the Kindle app cache but nothing seemed to happen. Went ahead and deleted the app and reinstalled and seems to work now.

Thanks again. I am amazed that Google has essentially turned my two year old Nexus7 into a very slow piece of technology unless I get under the hood. :(
