Just got the update.

i can handle a few logins and licenses and such having to be done. but not a fan of the whole wipe thing at all.
guess its just keep hitting the htc wifi update button often and the att check for updates button once every 24 hrs til it shows up. :/

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the update will come through the HTC wifi update, not the AT&T. No need to bother wasting your time waiting 24hrs between checks on AT&T.

That's correct. And be sure to be connected to wifi before you check for the update.

UPDATE...My wife just checked for update on her Inspire...and the update is now there. I asked her to report back after she's done installing. NW Florida!

UPDATE #2 She has Gingerbread installed OTA. Only thing she had to do was re-check "unknown sources" and re-install Swype. Awaiting further feedback. She loves her Swype, so she was not happy with having to re-install that! hahah! Oh well...better than losing everything.

UPDATE for me as well. Just got in a few minutes ago and installed. Chicago, IL.

Im usually getting 7 to 8 hours, yesterday I only got 5.

My battery was not lasting long at all yesterday after i got the GB update so last night i ran the phone down till it shut off on its own and recharged over night to 100%. Today the battery seems to be lasting longer than it ever has. And i have been using it a lot just to see how the battery will last.

A co orker of mine downloaded the update but it did not run you can see the file when you use astro how do you get the update to run there isn't any type of executable files. When you go to check for updates it says the phone is up to date.

You either download it using HTC WiFi update or download it from HTC and use such to install it.

Finally got the update this morning. First I did when I woke up was check and there it was to download. Took about 15 minutes to install. No problems.

Today was a double slice of cake. Also got the update to android market pushed out to me. Very cool.

I noticed the update is 2.3.3. What is the difference between this and 2.3.4? Is there a reason why we didn't get 2.3.4?

2.3.5 is actually the newest stable release. Both 2.3.4 and 2.3.5 have fixes that mostly related to other phones (mostly samsung). Those fixes are mostly related to features that are not in the inspire: Near Field Communication chip support (for a secure google wallet) , gtalk video and voice support (for front camera devices).

Got it...thanks for the reply.

Got the update earlier this morning.

Haven't had a chance to really dig to far into it but one thing I'm not all that keen on is anytime I try to pull up someone to text (unless I go into an existing conversation in my messages app) it lists multiple numbers now that it didn't in the past; instead of showing John Doe - Mobile, John Doe - Home, John Doe - Work as possible options it shows all those PLUS one (or more) of those numbers with no name but the label 'history.' A minor complaint I guess but still aggravating. I like having things like this as streamlined as possible and this seems to be the opposite of that.

Try opening the messaging app, go to menu, settings, general and uncheck the options to show from history.
