So I just purchased the Vibrant from T-mobile Of price of 200 with upgrade. The phone runs soo fast and the display is amazing, the super amoled is righteous.. sadly this phone won't be mine because it my present to my Sister. So This Thread is for those who purchased it today and recently and wanna know your impressions on it. This i believe is personal achievemnt for t-mobile and i believe this phone stands in the battle of Smartphones.

:D I didn't buy one but I played with one for a couple mins at the t-mobile store today. It was zippier than it looked on some show & tell videos. The one in the store didn't have any fancy widgets on the home screens, so that was probably the culprit.

The screen didn't fail to impress. Despite watching several videos, the screen was still a pleasant surprise. I fired up Avatar, and was blown away.

Didn't like to placement of the power button on the right side. While adjusting the volume I found myself accidentally powering off the screen. Compared to the Evo, the phone is light as a feather and more pocket friendly. Looks a little too much like the old-school iphone, but I do like the horizontal scrolling app drawer over the traditional android lay out. Home screens had more real estate than I was expecting based on the choice of square icons on the bottom, and the page counter on the top.

Browsing was nice. Personally don't like the zoom keys in the right corner taking up real estate (perhaps this is adjustable?). 4" was very readable for browsing; Checked out 2 websites (full versions) and tested out the pinch zoom. All in all, very internet friendly.

The phone does seem to hit a sweet spot between size and screen real estate. The haptic feedback felt very high frequency and a little jarring. Took a little getting used to. Didn't see a shortcut for turning 3g on or off in the notification bar by default. If I could get a decent corporate discount for t-mobile, I would have switched for it. Phone dimensions and screen quality are thumbs up.

I just got one this morning... I only got a partial discount but the phone was worth every damn penny I spent. Good by MT3G1.2 and hello Vibrant.

By the way my 13yo daughter is happier then a lark right now that she got the MT3G

IIt's played with one also and agree itself a great smartphone and i. Can't wait for it to make it to verizon. Blows the cheapest Washb in my mind. And it played with them both. This really does hit the sweet spot same far same size. Screen crazy compared the picturepictures to my droid No comparison.

Bought mine today, but it will be Monday before I get it. Decided to get it online since I wouldn't be able to stop by a store today anyway. Saving $100 was nice too. Can't wait to get mine. I might stop by my local Tmobile store to play with the display model if I get impatient.

My G1 with Android 2.1 goes to my wife so she can see if she will use the data plan enough to warrant getting a 2 year contract. Her 8100 Blackberry Pearl is getting a bit old.

I went to T-Mobile with my girlfriend to check it out; it's fantastic! The screen is beautiful (second best ive seen compared to iPhone4) and I love the Samsung UI + Android combo. The Samsung UI is the Android i like to see. My girlfriend and I are leaving t-mobile and we need a front-facing camera for long distance so the Vibrant gave us a good idea of what to expect (and more) from the Epic 4G.

I got mine yesterday also at the Tmo store down the street from work. I have been a long time blackberry user and I have to confess. This phone ROCKS!! All my buddies at work were blown away by it and they too have android phones. One of my co-workers even got on the phone and cancelled her "Ifruit 4J" order with the "Death Star" and instead ordered thier equivalent of this phone.

I actually like the UI better than the HTC. The UI is very clean and didn't include any of those dumb integrated carrier apps (i.e. t-mobile mobile backup).

My favorite part of the phone besides the awesome screen are the corporate e-mail and calender features. They are the best compared to other android phones i've owned or seen. Very comparable to the features of a blackberry. I love it.

This is by far the best phone I've seen so far.

Just got back from TMobile store with mine in Pleasant Hill, Ca. Couple of things. Having trouble with downloading phone book with Ford Sync. Only was able to mess with it a short while so hopefully I can sort it out. Never any problem with my G1 though. Not crazy about the power button on the upper right side but I will get used to it. But this thing is so fast I can't believe it. Fired up Avatar and I also can't believe the quality of this screen. Can't wait to game on it!!!

That post just made my day. PRE and EVO were lacking in the exchange features- yeah they did it- but not like BB- but I HATE using my Blackberry. Now I can't wait for the Epic!

Got mine yesterday.. coming from the evo

I just switched to t-mobile from sprint after having countless reception issues and a customer service call which sealed the deal. I had the evo for a month after coming from a moment (rooted, the whole 9). I have to say that next to the Evo, this is better in every way! I was waiting for the epic, but without good service, it was time for a switch. I really wanted a hard keyboard and that is the only drawback. I was concerned about not having a flash for the camera, but after using it and the video recording, night and day compared to the evo, even in low light... evo wins in the dark! The video quality is gorgeous and picks up sound amazingly well. The screen is definitely not as sharp as the iphone 4's, but beats it in color saturation and viewing angle... I would definitely take either screen, so it's a toss up. The graphics chip in this thing is faaast... pretty much 4 times the power of the chip in the Nintendo Wii... simply amazing... everything graphics intense runs flawlessly on this device. I'm actually amazed! I've been taxing the hell out of this thing since 6:00am e.t. and still have 30% juice left... that blows the evo away and will be simply amazing when froyo is on it. I'll be taking a few road trips this weekend to feel out t-mobile... hopefully they work out, so I can keep this badddasss device! Contrary to what I have been hearing about touchwiz, I am finding it better than sense.... finally a unified inbox.. 8 different accounts sucked to go through on the other devices. Allshare works flawlessly too.... streamed video to my htpc, hooked up to my plasma and it looked great.... wirelessly!

i got mine thursday morning and loving it!! the colors are so vivid and the screens move so flawless and fast its a nice powerful phone. I really have no complaints as of yet, havent figured out how to set a ringtone for contacts yet but i will. Great phone

I've had mine since 07/15 and am pleased. I had been a long time blackberry user and was VERY happy with my 9700. Ready to move on to something a little more media friendly, however.
Likes: screen is amazing; browser is nice; Android is the bomb - and is growing like crazy; OS is responsive and feels pretty zippy; is a multimedia monster; size just feels right;
Wishes: some sort of status light (i used berry buzz on the blackberry that allowed customization of the status light for different messages and contacts); flash on the camera
Pending: GPS and network signal seem a little wonky - haven't caused any problems, per say, but they seem to need some tweeking; battery life is still in question in my mind; patiently waiting for 2.2...... *update - also waiting for enterprise use - still haven't been able to hook up
