Just Got This Charger

I'm not sure that will happen, but I'd not another one at that piece.

Update on my Samsung situation. I was contacted by Samsung executive office of America and they are going to call me today around 11. They contacted regular support, closed the open ticket and informed them they were taking over. I'm not expecting anything, but we'll see.

For those debating this it's not worth the $150. $100 range is expensive also, but I've seen the $50/60 ones from Amazon, so if $40 more is worth it to you to get better quality then I say go for it.

My guess - you probably will get a full refund and will keep the charger. You can also mention to Samsung executive office that a "regular" price on their site is higher than MSRP on Bestbuy.com.

Well, I received the Samsung 3-in-1 Qi2 charger yesterday and tested it overnight. It has a major problem with recognizing the attached phones with MagSafe cases in multiple attempts. Need to reattach the phone or reconnect power to the charger to initiate charging. Ones it recognizes the phones, it changes properly and fast.

The Galaxy Ultra watch and various Buds, even with cases, charge well. The watch is properly positioned on the charger.

The charging indicator is only for Galaxy Buds. It does not indicate charging process for a phone or for a watch.

Unfortunately it will go back to Samsung.

Received mine a few hours ago.

All of my magsafe phone accessories appear to work properly with it.

Initial testing indicates that it works well. Can charge my watch seven ultra and it appears to charge my older watch6 without issue as well.

I like it.

Only two disappointments so far.

1 The buds charger on the base is not magnetic. My Duo will magnetically snap my Buds3 Pro into place for me rather than requiring careful placement. First world problems, but sad to see that is missing.

2 My Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds will not wirelessly charge on this charger's base. They work on every other Samsung wireless charger - trio, duo, etc. - but not this one. No biggie, but FYI for anyone else that might find that concerning.

Received mine a few hours ago.

All of my magsafe phone accessories appear to work properly with it.

Right now I have a Spigen Tough Armor on the phone, and previously it had a Supcase on it.

Both of them appeared to work properly with multiple attach/detach cycles, but I will do some more testing.

I was able to trip it up by quickly removing and replacing the phone.

Also, it seems if I charge on an external wireless charger, and then quickly switch the phone over to this one, that also causes it to trip up.

However, I can reproduce both of those behaviors with the samsung Duo charger as well.

So the issue either native to the Samsung wireless charging environment, or it's the phone.

Thank you for testing. I don't see similar problem with other chargers. I have 15W Samsung quck charger stand, a single Samsung charger with integrated SmartThings hub and two magnetic chargers from Amazon. All of them work well with S25U with two different MagSafe cases. It must be the charger.
And I tried iPhone 16e with MagSafe case. It has similar issue with this charger.

And I tried iPhone 16e with MagSafe case. It has similar issue with this charger.

Great, now I'm paranoid about my very expensive and completely unnecessary cell phone charger.

By rapidly attaching and detaching many wireless charging devices to the platform, some simultaneously, in a manner entirely inconsistent with how I would actually use it, I was able to cause the charger to malfunction.

It would not recognize nor charge my phone on the phone coil even though the phone was not at 100% SOC

Interestingly, disconnecting and reconnecting it from its USB-C power supply did not resolve the problem entirely. It would not perform fast wireless charging until I unplugged the associated AC adapter and plugged it back in.

After this, I put it through some more conventional usage cycles over the course of the next hour or so. A few watch cycles, a few phone cycles.

In what I would consider real world operational modes, it works as I would expect it to.

Noted that it will occasionally show a red status light on the base, even though the the buds3 pro indicate that they are fully charged. I don't seem to be able to find a way to reproduce it consistently.

Still won't charge the Sony 1000 XM5s.

I have about the same experience. Very strange that Sony's buds will not charge. The Buds charger should be a very generic Qi charging coil.

As much I liked this charger, I'm returning it also. The charging on my phone would stop after about 10 seconds. I tried my husband's phone, different cases, I even held the device in place with no case. Nothing worked. It just would quit.

My email containing the return label just arrived.

Count me as the outlier, here, I guess.

Mine continues to work satisfactorily.

I did determine that if you misplace the phone for several seconds, fumbling around near the charging pad, in an attempt to find the magnet, and then successfully attach it to the charging pad, it will not commence charging.

I've learned to be more deliberate on attachment. That seems to work 100% of the time.

I believe that the Qi2 standard's Magnetic Power Profile feature was specifically designed to prevent this issue.

Of course, it is up to the third party case manufacturers to follow that standard.

Since I do not have any of the Samsung OEM magsafe cases, I can't comment on their functionality with this charger.

You probably told them you're returning because it's not working right so the restocking fee doesn't apply. I was talking if returning to reorder for lower price which brought up the restock fee.

So what we learned here is just to say it doesn't work if you want to return it.

I'm not having the charging issue you and some others are having. I'm going to bet the case could have a lot to do with this, just my guess though. I'm running the Dbrand ghost case and I've used the pitaka case with issues, both expensive high quality cases.

I've been thinking about this 3 in 1 charger Samsung is selling.

Question I have.. Why is Samsung producing and selling a magnetic charger when they don't make phones that support it without buying a third party magsafe case? The charger working requires the case to be precise for magnetic chargers, if the case is off very little there will be issues with charging.

My thoughts of why Samsung produced this is they plan on producing future phones to be magsafe compatible without a case, probably starting with the fold 7.

Thoughts on this theory..I know they can capitalize on selling to people with magsafe cases, I'm just thinking there might be a different reason also.
