Just installed new LG G3 update

No updates for me on AT&T still at 10d
Folks when you get updates you should always list your carrier (please)

I think only US users haven't received the update because of their carrier modification **** - the rest of the world did (we don't have carrier specific OS).

It will be the same in the following months I think.

Just installed V10l-EUR-XX...Stump root survived the update but I think it is now draining my battery...still testing...

Welcome to AC and the G3 forum.☺
Stump Root, eh? I hadn't heard if it. It looks interesting.
Let us know how you get on with your battery. If we don't hear from you, we'll know you HAVE got battery drain.

No differences noticed, but perhaps they are so small that they would only be noticeable if you were to make a careful comparison of the earlier version and the later version side-by-side, which could hardly be done.
There was an LG Keyboard update a week or two ago, and that did make noticeable differences.

What were the differences? I noticed that my keyboard works differently but I can't tell how exactly. Haha :D

^^^With the older version of the LG Keyboard, if I made a mistake in typing a word, and then corrected the mistake, the app would insert a space after that word. Since the space was redundant, I then had to delete it. The updated version doesn't insert the space.

It seemed to take some time for word suggestions to work as effectively on the updated version. For example, I could type Youre, confident that I would be given the option of entering You're, saving me the keystrokes necessary for inserting the apostrophe. Typing Shant does not give me the suggestion of Shan't.....But now that I've done it and just tried again, it does give me that. I guess that the database has to be built up again?

Sometimes word suggestions now will include icons....for example, typing the word Phone, gives me the choice of PHONE, Phone, and an icon of a red, older-type telephone. Typing Car gives me Cat, Car and a red car icon.

It's now late for me so I'll wish you Goodnight (Touching - Goodnight - Tonight). Heh heh.

Thank you for the answer! I noticed it's easier to write with the updated app but now I can tell why exactly! :D It's super convenient. :)

I installed the Lg G3 update with Verizon and activated it monday night. All I have used so far is the phone.Tuesday night I made a call to San Diego from Phoenix to a friend in my contacts. Her voice would be clear for a few seconds then it was scrambled then clear. Finally I hung up,shut off the update, called back and the call, for about an hour was like it used to be,clear with no issues.Maybe it was a coincidence but I think I should have waited longer to install the update.

If you're rooted, AT&T will still update you, right?

It might not update you. I think the OTA updates only work if you're on the stock recovery. If you have a custom recovery, like TWRP, in my experience it will try to update but it will fail once it reboots to recovery.

Just downloaded 4.4.2....checking differences.

Some carriers do prevent it.. Just depends if they care or not.

An example is my Note 3.. I'm still on 4.3 due to root.

Manufacturers and carriers don't prevent updates to root because they hate root (although they do). They try to prevent OTAs on rooted devices because they can't predict what you might have changed, and an OTA could actually softbrick your phone by updating something that becomes incompatible with your other fixes.

If you're rooted, with the stock recovery, and ALL factory installed software (including bloatware), and haven't updated any of the system files, then an OTA will probably run, and probably be OK. But if you have a custom recovery (e.g., TWRP), have deleted apps you don't want on your phone, or edited system files like build.prop, you never, never, EVER want to accept the OTA. Unless you like flashing new ROMs and losing all your data.

I'm on Sprint and just got the ZV6 update this morning. The compass finally works properly and there is the camera shortcut on the lock screen now. I don't see any other differences, but this phone is only a couple weeks old, so I probably wouldn't notice much regarding performance.

On T-Mobile US - LG-D855, just got the OTA update.
231.3MB! Installing right now.

Sprint ZV6 installed. Huge! But not 5.0. Maybe I am imagining things, but I think my G3 is running smoother.

I just had it downloaded, it seems ok, nothing special.
I am looking forward to 5.0

Any idea when?

I haven't noticed any difference. Still no VoLTE  Maybe the OTA will get the OS ready for the Lollipop update?
