Just Ordered A Pixel 2 - Finally!

I'm actually really loving it. I won't be leaving this line for awhile. The phone's camera capabilities, though simple, is fascinating.
Yep... That's my reason for putting down roots into Google's phones. The camera performance is consistently great. Because of T-Mobile's jump program, I kept giving my wife the latest and greatest phones from Samsung and LG and they all, without exception, failed miserably at giving her a usable shot reliably. She has a first gen XL now and loves it.

But I think I'm just getting too old to want to suffer any OEM foolishness. I've been fortunate, but I have never had any of the Google branded phones I've owned (and there have been many).

Just ordered a 2XL panda as well. I really miss my 6P and I felt I took as good a picture as my wife’s iPhone 7 Plus, in some cases. I’m actually using it right now as a temporary phone and it is a consistently good camera. I would keep it and wait until the Pixel 3 but notifications are shoddy and ill thought out and I rely on them every day at work bouncing between tasks and supporting people on the team. One of the handiest things I have seen with this phone is being able to use Force Touch on the keyboard and zoom the cursor around. The haptics are light years better than my old 6P. Anyways, I can’t wait to get my hands on my Pixel and give Fi a try.

That's awesome! The Panda is my favourite Pixel 2 look! Let us know when it comes, and how you are liking it! :)

Basically same story with me. So I packed my bags and jumped my wife back to Google Branded phones as part of our anniversary/birthday phenomenon. October is my go for broke month, because my birthday, her birthday and our anniversary are all within 2 weeks of each other. Haha.. I don't plan on jumping ship yet.

At least you get everything done in one go! :)

Will do! Google branded is the way to go. The difference between my ancient S5 to the Nexus 6 was huge. No lag, regular updates- then the camera difference between the Nexus 6 and the 6P was night and day. I had a hard time parting with it but I also had a hard time not upgrading to the first gen Pixel. Glad I waited and will post when I get my hands on it.

Congrats on your decision. Don't ugly up your new Pixel 2 by putting in a bulky case or sticking an awful screen protector on it. J/K - do what's comfortable for you and enjoy your new toy!

I'm assuming Morty didn't buy the Pixel2 as a thing of beauty. I wouldn't carry a phone that cost $600 without a protective case.

That sounds great! Google-branded phones are definitely great!

I bought mine to use in such a way that lets me enjoy it the most. For me, that means no case.
