Just received my Photon 4G!

That being said, of course the OP should have known this was a fraudulent purchase, at least after he received it. (possibly not before). Since all Motorola has done to him is to reclaim their stolen property, I have ne beef with them. I believe they have treated the OP quite fairly.
I think if I were Shawheim, my response would depend on how I was approached by Motorola. If I received a polite, non-threatening request along with an explanation of why they believe they are entitled to it, I'd send it back. But if I was approached in a rude, threatening manner, I'd probably be slow to respond and look into my options a little. I'd at least consider how to make it more difficult on them. The OP is a victim here and should not be assumed guilty of any crime. If I were in his shoes, I probably would have asked the seller for my money back or just not published the relevant portion of the phone.

Well, of course it matters how they treated him. I've only read this thread, and don't know that. If they were really nasty, I assume he'd be angry. But the phone was clearly stolen property, and I don't think they need to give a lot of "explanation" of why they are entitled to it.

Of course he should ask the seller for his money back. Good luck with that, though.

By the way, while I think it was foolish of the OP to publish all he did, I am grateful to him. I am now interested in the Photon, and might even pick one up this weekend.

I'm sure one major reason Moto wanted this back was because it was unlocked! and potentially held the key to unlocking all bootloaders on production Photons. Sadly the OP sent it back before getting dumps of the system or anything useful toward development....
