just returned Galaxy 6 due to lack of SD card and removable battery. Waiting for G4. Anyone else?d

Can't say I'm returning any phones, but Microsoft's lack of rumor flagships and other things has me looking at alternate OSes. The G4 ranks quite highly on my list of potential phones. Removable battery and SD card slot are both major pluses for me.

I liked my LG G3, but there's a couple of things that really bug me about them:

1. Rear firing speaker...worst possible orientation.
2. LG auto-expands notifications, and the font on the G3 for them was on the large side anyway.

On the other hand, a 5.5 inch screen that can actually be one-handed, unlike a certain Note series....

true... but I have yet to hear any smartphone speaker that sound half decent. Even the front-firing HTC One M8 speakers sound terrible to me. No substitute for "real" speakers.

Jeez everyone thinks it's about sound quality. Not at all, it's simply a matter of sound propagation. Ideally, speakers point at you, not away from you. You don't want your YouTube video blaring out into the rest of the room, you want to be able to hear it yourself.

I'm with you, I have an M8 and even for the best speakers on the market, they aren't worth the hype.

They are just loud and there's two of them

Moto Turbo, which I just returned...had front speakers, but even with sound all the way up, volume was really low.

Oh well... there isn't that many options. The Note 5 is still 5 to 6 months
away. So my only logical option is the G4, which should be available for
purchase withing the next few weeks.

It's kind of irritating seeing people talk about purchasing 3 or 4 phones a year on these forums. I don't understand how people can afford to pay full retail for several phones a year. Most of us can barely afford one new phone a year.

Helps to sell them on eBay before they lose too much value.

You can't afford a newer phone, so its irritating that people talk about buying newer phones at a rate you don't approve of. Pretty interesting standpoint. Do folks who eat out more than you do also irritate you?

Many people can't afford a single phone for multiple years so they should be irritated at you? See how it sounds now? Just because you can't afford you are irritated at others who can afford? Lol...chill out and enjoy what you got instead.

Why would it though? I use and average of 3 phones per year, because I choose to.

And not to mention this is an entire discussion based around an unreleased phone, which prob means a majority of people would be changing phones when it is released, myseld included, because my turbo just didn't to it for me

I haven't kept up with Nexus news in a while. The current one is Nexus 6, right?
What is Google planning to call the next Nexus smartphone?

Thanks!

ooops, forgot about that crappy tablet.... I wonder what Google will call its next phone. :)

i kinda liked the Nexus 7, especially considering the price. i have an ipad mini so i never got one, but used it several times and bought it as a gift. the Nexus 9 is "that crappy tablet" IMO. when i saw the price and found out HTC was making I got excited, thinking finally apple had some competition. unfortunately, i was wrong

i don't understand why anyone would find it irritating that people choose to purchase new phones with their disposable income, especially being that we're all pretty much tech nerds here.

also, i wouldn't assume that just cause somebody is irritated by it necessarily means they can't afford to. i have a Nexus 4 and S4 still, and it's certainly not cause I can't afford to upgrade every year.

but to your original point, yeah, doesn't make any sense why that should irritate anyone. i'm a business owner and have some very high-net worth clients (i own a power washing company and i'm a financial advisor), and would certainly not get irritated at their luxurious lifestyle. jealousy and envy, now that's something to be irritated over ;)
