Just rooted, have questions about Titanium Backup.

So I just rooted last night, installed Titanium Backup and backed up.

But it appears that it backed up to the internal phone storage, not the SD card.

on the main TiB screen it says "External storage: /mnt/sdcard" and lists the backup directory as /mnt/sdcard/TitaniumBackup.

Is this ok? I thought it was supposed to backup to the external sdcard? I found a setting that seems to be for changing where it saves the backup to, but its not clear to me how to change it in that area.

I'd like to get this figured out and the backup copied to my PC before I start messing with stuff beyond this.

Thanks!

When going to Backup Folder Location in TiBu, just use the back soft key on your phone to back up, then locate your sd-ext and you can go in there. Once in there I created a folder called TitaniumBackup, just as it was labeled originally. Select that to be your backup location.

Here's where I had a tiny issue so in case this happens to you... TiBu then offered to move all current backups to the new location on sd-ext, but when I clicked Yes it didn't actually do anything. So I used Root Explorer and just moved them all from sd to the new folder on sd-ext. Then go back into TiBu and make sure the sd-ext folder is chosen, then click DETECT on the top left and it should be good from there.

Awesome!

That did it, I didnt even think to use the back soft key to go up in the directory structure! I also had to manually move the files to the new folder.

now I just need to wait till I get home from work so I can copy the backup to my laptop, then its time to start freezing bloatware.

Think thats gonna be the limit of my root explorations until this update has come and the dust has settled.

Lol cool, don't worry it took me a while to figure that one out too :)
