Just saved $120 a year?!

I have the evo, I didn't see the option anywhere to switch to the $25 plan. So if you can't afford the bump up to the $35 don't go out and get a new phone going to trick the system.

I sucessfully made the switch on my girls phone as well.

Thank you.

My question is this : Has anyone who made this switch payed for their month yet? If so, was the $25 price honored? If no one has payed yet, my girls is due here in just a few days. I will post back here with the outcome.

If they do honor the $25 switch, that would be great. One of the biggest reasons I am sticking with VM is because of my $25 grandfathered plan. I don't talk much on my phone, so $25 for 'unlimited' data is perfect for me. If I can get my girl on the same plan, then that would just be awesome. An extra $120 a year in savings? I can't argue with that!

Now, if I could just get better reception...(lol)...

Five days for me. I really don't have much confidence in it being honored, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see. :-)

I just restarted my son's ov on the $25/mo plan (i hasn't paid for coverage for a couple of months as he needed to earn his phone back.) The price was honored. Also switched my daughter's ov over to $25/mo using the "change my plan now" option. The price was honored there as well. I didn't need to change mine as I have been at $25/mo since I got my ov in January of '11!

Thank you for verifying this. That's awesome that they are honoring the change. I'm trying to think of any other family members or friends that have virgin mobile that can benefit from this.

I'm still wondering if this was a mistake on VMs behalf that has gone unnoticed, or a marketing ploy.

If it is indeed a mistake, I wonder what they would to those who have made the switch? I don't see them charging us the difference between the two plans, and I also don't see them letting us keep the plan.

I guess only the future holds the answer.

Either way, thanks for the find guys.

And thanks for the verification, Ryan.

I am thinking it's their way of honoring the grandfathered plan on the low-end phones. They're not going to shout it from the roof-tops, though!

Ok, I can now personally confirm this.

Payed my girls monthly bill, and they honored the $25 change.

Great find guys, thanks!

Confirmed they honored it on all 3 of mine (fams) . Just saved me 360 a year thank you!!!!

I never use over 170 minutes and rarely over 300mb data every month so I feel much better paying this!!

That's good to know
I've been thinking of upgrading, but I'll wait as long as they honor $25
Or my optimus dies
Plus the store I get my topup cards from only sells $30 and up, so every 6th month will seem free!

Ok, so am I the only person that got sent to customer support while trying to top up? The lady was real nice and switched me to the $25 plan though. Anyways, thanks for the heads up.

I love the optimus v. I've been using it for 2 years and i can't bring myself to switch because of the 25 dollar fee with free hotspot. I mean how is that even real? 12 years ago i was paying 30 a month for 300 minutes on a classic Nokia phone with no internet.

I'm curious to see how long will virgin let people be grandfathered?
