I get a much more powerful tablet and I made a profit lol. I haven't used Android really since my old Droid X on Gingerbread and I am a little overwhelmed.

I plan on rooting, staying with a stock rom (for a while anyway), installing Apex or doing the Tablet UI buildprop thing, and maybe flashing a custom kernel for overclock. Am I missing anything? Any other advice?

You can get the N7 guide book from the play store for free. It may help you catch up with the intricacies of jellybean. Otherwise enjoy and have fun :)

You get Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon for free and it looks good on the Nexus 7, plus a 25 dollar playstore credit.

Sounds like you were never really an Apple guy to begin with. No apple owner knows much about custom kernels, UI buildprops, or stock roms.

...Unless they've previously had an Android device. Or they've done their research.

I actually decided to get an iPad because I was so pleased with my iPhone 4. The only problem with that is that the iPad is identical, its boring. I can deal with Apple's restrictions on a cell phone, but for a power user the iPad just doesn't cut it. You shouldn't have to rely on a jailbreak to move a damn file.

But yeah I have done a little research while I'm waiting lol.
