After far too many years with an iPhone, I got bored of it and switched to a ThinkPhone 25. Really enjoying Android and its customizability. I am firmly into the Microsoft software ecosystem, and all of my Microsoft apps and the Microsof launcher are on my new phone. Looking forward to learning more about Android and enjoying it. New phone works perfectly with Intel Unison and my ThinkPad X1 Carbon.ThinkPhone 25.jpg

After 10 days or so, here's an update on my switch to Android. With a little bit of planning, it went very well. There are Android substitutes for everything I used in iOS. Messages/FaceTime/ApplePay became SMS Organizer, Teams and a combination of Zelle and Google Pay. Things like Intel Unison for messages on my ThinkPad aren't quite as smooth as seamless as on macOS, but they are functional and I'm satisfied. All my banking apps are available. There isn't anything thats a show stopper.

I switched mostly because Apple has become the most boring tech company on Earth. The iPhone and iOS have changed very little in the last 5 years. There is more choice on Android, in terms of software offerings, and of course in hardware. I wish there was even more hardware choice in the US. I ordered my ThinkPhone unlocked from the UK, but from reading these forums, its seems that most people are either Samsung or Pixel customers. So far loving the switch to Android and Windows. BTW, if there was still a Windows Phone, I'd go back to it in a heartbeat.
