Just used an HTC One

Seriously? Read any of the reviews out there. Apparently the camera is the one weak point on this device. Personally I'm waiting until I can test it out to pass judgement, but the reviews are pretty clear. The camera is average at best. Influential techies opinions mean a lot less to me than reviewers who know what they're talking about. Also, according to the AC review, the mythical camera update was already applied to the device they reviewed. I didn't read a single review that claimed the One's camera was better, overall, than the iPhone 5.

I'm sorry bro but EVERY pic the one took on this thread was head and above any smartphone out prior including the ip5

What are you proving there exactly?

This is pretty straight forward. The iPhone 5 camera is still the best on a mobile phone. Every review of the One stated that. None I read said it beat the iPhone 5. Please show me some that do.

I've honestly never seen such rampant fanboyism that someone will stick their head in the sand to everything that has been stated by reviewers.

Hahaha, firstly, I own the Note II, secondly, I provided a video which clearly shows the HTC One has the better camera. You obviously are an Apple fan.

I know this review has been post here somewhere but it's the most thorough one I've seen. Here's the page dedicated to the camera (few pages altogther). I'm sure there are instances where the HTC one does better than most and then there are other conditions where other phone prevail. The main thing for me is that pictures around the house and in low light settings are good. Doesn't have to be the best ever or Carl zeiss. But good.

Wow. Ok yeah that must be it. Makes sense that I'm dropping my iPhone 4s for the One, but that I'm just such an apple fan that I'm the one being unrealistic here.

Again, read a few reviews. Here's a couple off the top of the google results page.

Dude, you can't convince someone whose mind isn't open. You speak the truth but not everyone is capable of accepting it. The more honest fan boys will acknowledge the camera is a weak spot but say it's adequate enough for them or its just not that important.

"The HTC One is really built for the kind of scenarios that I find myself in more of the time armed with only a smartphone ? evening, dusk or night time, indoors in low light at a restaurant, with friends at a social get together, at a store, or in the confines of my office. It?s there that the One shows the fruits of its tradeoff between resolution and larger pixels."

And yet Brian failed to take even one picture in a restaurant, bar, store, or home in low to ultra low light. Why?
Because that is when the auto white balance fails.

Just take a look at the pics that were already posted in this thread...
The 920 has good white balance of the HTC One. Yet the HTC One's pic of the LG has clearly poor white balance.

It's time that you listen to the people who know what they are talking about. Besides, you'll never get a fully honest review from any website...as if they say too many bad things, they won't ever get a new review unit to test in the future.

Again I think that is some serious perception creeping into your feeling of best camera.

I think it is very good but looking at photos it's hard to say it's better than quite a few out there. Di tend to think apple's camera system to be faster and better but photo quality not necessarily. You might also like fake overproduction of color instead of a more muted, warm spectrum.

Yeah I don't have an opinion one way since I haven't tried the device. But I'll never understate the shortcomings of a
device because I like it. I'll leave that to the fan boys and apologists

It wouldn't surprise me that the 920 and iPhone camera are much better. As long as it's serviceable I should be fine.

I'll leave that to the fan boys and apologists.

I'm not 100% sure, but I thought it already did. Or was that best looking phone?? Either case I'm impressed with the photos above.
But I don't understand the playground banter that my phone is better than yours. My daughters love their iPhones & their mom already loves the HTC ONE. To each their own-period! And as for the trolling, c'mon I thought there were more adults here....just saying.

I have no intention of trolling, just do a Google search for "phone of the year 2013/2014' (not sure how they do these) you will see where I'm coming from... why my interest in the HTC one winning phone of the year ? simply because HTC needs it especially with Peter Chou (his one of the CEOs) he said he would resign if the HTC one did not sell well- if it won phone of the year then its sails would be one of the highest because phone of the year generally means its the favorite phone to the majority of the people. (the majority of people prefer it to any other device)

look I apologize if I appear to be trolling but what gave you the impression I was trolling ?

I thought this was a new smartphone?

The camera is a value-add for me, not the center of the universe. With that said, it seems the camera feature is really good...

I'm not shopping for a superior camera that makes phone calls and can surf the web.

This thread is now stupid. The HTC One camera is great.. The iPhone 5 camera is great.. Done.

It's a little like rival gangs, isn't it? I fully expect to hear Michael Jackson's "Beat It" or Offspring's "Come Out and Play" in the background. :D

Well they didn't have the One at at&t store here, but That's Shelbytuckey (Shelbyville) for ya. But I was on a mission. After all I got dressed, so drove into Greenwood. And OMG this phone is sweet. I found no rough edges. Smooth, sleek-like I said sweet!! And extremely light!
The display-it is most definitely THE BEST I've seen on any phone-period.
I liked blinkfeed, more than I thought I would. No lag, scrolled effortlessly. I open several of the feeds. FAST...no lag, no buffering.... it was awesome.
As for the camera...for me it was great. Took pics in the store & they looked great. Camera was fast as well.
App drawer, flawless-scrolled effortlessly. Swiping back n forth from screen to screen, so, fluid so smooth.
Sadly, I got so caught in explaining this sexy phone to the sales associate, I left in search of a restroom & didn't check out the damn speakers!!!
Now get this, I went to the mall, another corporate store and they did not have the HTC One on display. When I informed Her that the store on US 31 had one on display. She tried telling me that I was mistaken, & that it was the First that I seen at the other store. I just laughed And walked out.
I have NEVER pre-ordered before. I usually waited till I could read customer reviews. But after seeing this phone, surfing the web-again FAST, testing out the camera, toying with the UI...I know I won't be regretting it.
