K-9 Mail and DroidMail Setup Error! HELP PLEASE!

Hello Everyone!

I downloaded K-9 mail on a droid x for Verizon and have tried setting up my gmail with it however every time i finish the manual setup ( as the auto setup does not work) i keep getting an error that says my "user name or password is incorrect"
however i can assure you it is not... after many attempts i decided to try droidmail and that gives me the same exact error?? what gives??

Also the error is generated in the stage where i setup in the incoming server or IMAP settings the SMTP settings does not give me an error....


Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I tryed your suggested settings verbatim and it continues to say

" password or settings are incorrect"

Protocal: IMAP
Error: Null

ummm.... is imap enabled in your gmail account settings?

Yes because i use outlook on my PC so im pretty sure its enabled as my outlook is working fine.

Is your outlook configured for POP3 or IMAP? 'Cause you can have it enabled for POP3 without being enabled for IMAP (just trying to cover all the grounds)...

um... does your google account have CAPTCHA protection activated?

..You could also go here (http://code.google.com/p/k9mail/downloads/list) and download another (earlier or later) version to see if there's just a bug with the build you have.
