Keep my Note 8 or get S9+?

All depends on what your looking for. I've been a Note fan for a long time. Just traded in my Note 8 for an S9Plus and loving it.

I thought u returned the S9+ ....I am on the fence...I had Axon 7 and only brought it for the stereo speakers ...I am on the fence...But I think S9 plus has nice upgrades to Note 8...If s spen is important to u wait for Note 9...Otherwise s9+ is a great upgrade....
I mite be getting 128gb version
Saw many video of s9+ speaker test and it's way better then iPhone x or pixel 2 ...

I only returned it at the time because of needing the down payment back. I was able tonight to go back and get it again. Very pleased

The blue - love it. I have a clear case with protective black border. Overall I do prefer it to the Note. The slightly shorter size is ideal because it doesn't really feel like a "smaller phone", just a little shorter and better balanced.

For me, it's simple...stay with the Note8 as the S9+ is a debatable upgrade. Add that to another down payment (if you're leasing) and the answer is simple.
The Note8 is 5 months away. T-mobile is already getting too much of my money.

it's very simple if u really love the s pen and use it often..wait for Note 9... if spen is not your need then S9+ is a awesome upgrade..from better form factor to best in class stereo speakers better camera ...super slow mo...bigger battery...and better FP placement...

I think the s9 Plus is a tad too small, especially if you have a Note.

Frankly, I just don't get it, jumping from a powerful, clean, crisp and fast phone like the Note 8 to the S9+ after six months or so... maybe unless you have that Mobile JOD plan, or you have money to burn, or you just want to be current with the latest. I respect everyone's decision and choice to do as they please as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. It's a free choice world. However... I've read the comments on the jumping from the Note 8 to the S9+ and again, frankly... I sense people are 'reaching' for reasons to justify their choice as the S9+ is so close in design and performance to the Note 8, I'll simply allow the facts to explain themselves. Sure, you get stereo, maybe for some a better Placement for the finger security release, a few months more on an update, and that it's a tad smaller, but not much, and easier to handle. These to me are all meaningless attributes! Like I said, if you can jump from one to the other with No added cost... that might be a reason to jump. Since this is an open forum, and the question is ... thoughts about jumping... well... these are my thoughts and after 24 years with the same cell number, I think I've seen it all with phones. Enjoy whatever phone you have and I'm willing to bet... when the Note 9 is released, most of these jumpers will move from their newly jumped S9+ right to the Note 9. For some, it's an addiction to have the very latest and greatest. Just calling it like I see it.

I agree with a lot of your points. However, you must remember that people are these forums are phone fanatics. Some wish they could could upgrade 3 times a year and can't and some upgrade once a year because that's all they need. Some have a phone addiction and just need to have something new all the time or need the next release to look forward to. There's all kinds.
Personally, the JOD is still a money grab, especially for the S9+ as you need $120 + tax down payment to switch. If all phones were still zero down, I still wouldn't switch from the Note8 to the S9+. But, that's just me. These forums are all about people's opinions, which gives them entertainment value.

Understand. Like I said, I respect people's choice. It's also as mentioned, a forum where a question was asked... soliciting an opinion. I posted with respect and laid out my opinion with some reasons. Sure, folks will jump... no matter what. And... I also said... they'll be back for the Note 9. No harm, no foul. It's March Madness time.

I can understand the excitement for wanting the latest but at the end of the day... For me I feel that’s From a Note 8 or even an S8 series, the user experience and feel will be so similar it’s just not worth it if you have to shell out extra money for it.

Excited to get Oreo the other day after seeing new phones out with it and wanting the latest. Installed... played with it... put the phone back in my pocket and continue normally cause 99% looks/feels no different than 24 hours ago... we now have basically the same OS and current TW as the S9... big whoop. Looking at the comparison videos... once they set them up identically... they look and move exactly the same.

I was thinking recently... if I’m gonna switch phones so soon, I’d rather try a new phone that looks and feels different for fun... this Pro actually looks like it would be a good alternative and fun...

I won't be upgrading until the Note 10/ S10. That Huawei P20 Pro looks really interesting, though. Might look at the Huawei Mate 12(?) when it comes out winter of 2019. Still aways a way, but....

This is what I hate. Apple and Samsung have a monopoly basically in North America when it comes to the higher end devices. I'd like to see more competition to chose from.
