Keep Tile app active?

I just got a KeySmart Max key organiser with Tile built in. It lets me ring my keys from my phone, or vice versa.

I can ring my phone from the tile just fine when the app is active. However it won't work if the Tile app is closed (and I generally close all apps several times a day out of habit).

I found a solution from 2019 that involved 'locking' the tile app, but I don't see any option to do that on my phone.

Any ideas?

If you bring up the multitasking view and tap the app icon for tile at the top of the tile app window, you should get several options, one of them being "keep open."
