Keeping Emails on Phone

I seem to have a different issue than most people. I have POP3 accounts in my hosted domain with Go Daddy. I can send and receive email fine. However, when my S3 goes to the server to search for new emails, it also deletes any emails on the phone that are no longer on the POP3 server. I am a recent convert from the iPhone to Android. The iPhone never deleted POP3 emails from the phone when they were no longer on the POP3 server. Is there a setting that will allow emails to remain on the S3 even if they no longer are on the POP3 server? Even though it may not appear to be the case right now, I am a retired CIO with many years experience as a techie. Thank you.

The only thing that I can think of to offer is to check your settings to 'sync with deletes on server' or something like that. Keep in mind this is a different setting than the one that says to delete/not delete from the server when you delete from your phone. Hope that helps.

That's an unpleasant quirk of the non-Google stock email app. My work around was to setup my pop3 accounts through the use of Gmail labels.

Read here. Much better solution and all email is centrally located in gmail. Very good spam filter and the labels are a great way to organize your emails. Plus you can keep emails on your phone even though you downloaded those emails to your pc from the server.

@bgh711

I'm from Go Daddy and came across your post. My goal is to help you resolve this issue.

Have you tried changing your email password then updating that on the device? Also are the emails being saved on any other device?

Please feel free to direct message me.

@tqworld and @Sailindawg thank you for your willingness to help.

First of all, I apologize for not replying sooner. I am in the process of opening a new restaurant/night club, and life is hectic right now. I am searching for the menu that has the setting for "synch with deletes on server". I may set up pop 3 accounts through my gmail account as Sailindawg suggested. Now that Go Daddy is back up, I will try GDKen's suggestion also. I will update again, but I can't promise it will be tomorrow. I want to thank all of you very much for taking the time to post these suggestions.
