Keeping track

Life360 is a great app for a family to keep tabs on each other. They have a very functional free tier that works great. My family has used if several years with no issues. It also has a great emergency feature if needed.

SmartThings is the app we use. It's a Samsung app, free to use, already installed on both of your devices, and uses the hundreds of thousands, dare I say a million, other Samsung devices to locate your Samsung phone, galaxy tag, galaxy watch, galaxy buds, the galaxy galaxy. OK maybe not that last one but you get the idea. You can't throw a rock without hitting someone with a Samsung phone. Another great feature is, depending on which Samsung device, both of your S24 series phones for example fall into this category, offer offline location. This is an option that needs to be enabled in the settings of the phone, but when enabled your device can be found even if network is turned off or there is no network. My guess is that enabling this causes something to always be on and transmitting some kind of signal to identify it vs going completely dark when the network has been disabled.

It ties in with several other things and you may already be using it.

Edit: Samsung's Smart Tags are awesome too. Depending on your budget they aren't hatefully expensive. the new style with the loop can easily be used for a keychain or purse dongle. They are small enough that you can put them nearly anywhere discretely.
