It's gotten so cumbersome to keep unlmtd data and get subsidized phones but verizon's coverage for data and voice is just too good for me to consider switching carrier..

Buy it full retail from Best Buy using their interest free credit card and save yourself the $2/mo. $2/mo = $24/yr, so if you pay it off over 1 year, you pay an extra $24 for the phone if you buy through Verizon. You have to factor in that Best Buy no longer price match out of contract phones with other retailers... Verizon's monthly fee may not be a bad option for those that want to spread out the cost.
