So I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here.
I'm running Cm6 and I want uncapped fps. Here's the short
I tried flashing 3 kernals 2 of which were from "kingzxklik" or something like that and it made my screen unresponsive-- I couldn't even unlock the phone. I found a thread on xda for snap 8 and that fixed my screen prob but after about 2mins I froze so I pulled the batt and went into a bootloop
Now I'm back up running Cm6 with the stock kernel. I'm hoping i can get some help with this before I restore my SD card cuz I don't want to have to do it again.

Wat kernel is known to work on Cm6 and will give me an uncapped fps.
Also pls let me know if I should flash it right after the rom while everything is wiped or do I only have to clear the cache and davlik (sp?)

Thanx in advance

Stock cm6 kernel is uncapped... The king kernels are for sense roms, although he did make another for aosp, and as for snap, I use it occasionally. Try the snap v8.2 850, and if that isn't kosher go up to 900 and keep going up till it works, snap gives me slightly better battery but... Meh. You don't need to wipe anything. Just...
Don't forget to back that nand up haha.

It didn't get uncapped results when I tested it :-/ I was still only at 32fps. And it was 8.2 I tried and if 850 was the lowest havs number then that's also wat I did. Idk wat havs really is so I was kinda shooting in the dark. Haha. Should I just stay with wat I have or keep taking chances like I've been doing? Haha

**edit**
So I just flashed 850 the first time I flashed 800. Anyone care to give me a small crash course on wat havs are? Or at least wat I would gain from using something higher than 850

hyper active voltage scaling (or something like that) scales down the volts the cpu gets, increasing battery. lower the number, lower the voltage and better battery. But most phones can't handle it too low, it gets sketchy and unresponsive.

I'm 100% sure its uncapped, I'm running it right now... Fps2d is the app to test it.

So in reality I did all this for no reason. Haha. I've been trying to boost my neocore score. Is there a way to? I jumped up to 925havs does it need to be that high? I don't wanna sacrafice much performance just for some batt life
thanx for helping btw i appreciate it

Snap boosts performance. I get 40 fps on stock cm6 and 55ish on snap so there's benefit, just back up your stock cm6, and flash snap kernels until you get the lowest you can go without sacrificing anything. 850 is god enough for me but every phone is different. You don't have to wipe anything at all, so flash away, who cares.

That's on neocore???
I didn't know about fps2d til just now and I got 53avg but neocore is still capping at ~32 :-( wat do I do for that?
Quadrant is at 1511

Oh ok. But that does test 3d gfx right? I'm thinking I should stick with a stock kernel until I read up more on havs if all it really is doing is restricting the voltage :-/

it scales it down is all, its perfectly safe. Snap kernels are great imo.

I'm finally using your beloved Snap Kernel with Set Cpu. My question to you is... If you use Set Cpu... What scaling profile do you usually run with? Conservative, interactive, or On Demand? I of course want the best of battery life and performance...

Right now I'm using conservative and it seems to be holding up pretty well.

Also, I'm happy to say that I haven't had any stability issues with 850.

I use on demand, butt really doesn't matter. I use set CPU for the underclocking while the screen is off.

Whoa, I found a deal breaker with the Snap Kernel... I'm getting some major screen tearing on the left side of the screen when in landscape mode. I tried flashing 900 thinking that the voltage may be too low... But it was still there.

Do you get this tearing?

I didn't get tearing but I did freeze while reloading so im back to stock Cm6. Im on the same page as mr. Everywhere aka igotsanevo4g. Haha I use it for screen off and ~25 batt

I'm wondering if it may have been Launcher Pro mixed with the Snap Kernel that was causing it. I may flash Snap again.... I really want Snap to work...

My Quadrant scores were breaking 1900. I really would like the tearing to go away.

Ehh I got 1511 im ok with it. For 1 im not sure wat it proves Haha for 2 I don't have a prob with how my phone runs as of now. The only thing I might change is on setcpu going back to ondemand from conservative

Okay, I tried about everything and couldn't get the tearing to go away. Back to stock CM6 kernel. Boo.

I get no tearing at all hmm. Well launcher pro does suck... uhmm I dunno what the problem is, try kingx's aosp kernel. It didn't work on my phone but you could try it, lots of people say it works great.

If you could be everywhere you would be, I sense a little jealousy... haha ;)

Edit- kings aosp kernel allows 1.29 oc, but I can guarantee it will freeze if you do so. So don't, unless you like battery pulls. Haha.

Yeah, I'm a Sense hater... I won't even use Vaelpak because it is Sense related. CM6 is pretty much what this Goat is all about.

I've tried a lot of other ROMs in the past 2 days... CM6 is by far the best I've tried. All the rest are based on Sense.

I want to keep experimenting with kernels. Snap is the fastest I've found... If it want for the tearing then I would be at home with it.

Experimenting with all these ROMs and kernels is such a blast. I've had a lot of fun with all of this. I suppose I am a pretty boring person who its easily entertained.
