Version update:

v10.0 Updated all of Ezekeel's mods and added a whole bunch of performance tweaks from Franciscofranco.

Just an FYI, he now has deepidle DISabled by default on v10.0.

Also, I went into Root Explorer to double check that it was disabled and there was nothing showing up in the file. No 1, no 0, nothing. My battery at the time was 19 percent. I reflashed 9.5 and my battery showed 40 percent when the phone came back on and there is still nothing showing in the deepidle file.

I've been running v10.0 for a day or so as well. I used nstools to turn on deep idle, but I can't say my battery life is any better or worse when compared to matr1x 9.5.

Was deep idle on by default in 9.5?

I believe so..I think he turned it on default in v9.0

Guys I got a quick question. I rooted my nexus s 4g and now I want to install this kernel. Do I need a rom before I install this? how does it work? Very confused someone please help!:'(

If you would like to take full advantage of things like BLN (Back light notification) which is used in place of no LED for missed notifications and then others things like Voodoo Control for music and screen display color... Then yes... Otherwise I know in the past on other devices we could flash a custom kernel over stock OS...

Real simple, either its going to work once you flash it in ClockWorkMod Recovery or your going to end up with boot loop and it won't boot up... In that case you will need to pull your battery, boot back into CWM and flash a custom ROM....

Sorry I don't have an answer because I never attempted on the NS4G to flash a custom kernel over stock OS.

^ So which Rom should I add first? because I want over clocking, Bln, and voodoo controls that are on this kernel. Also I read somewhere that this kernel has a rom already built into it? Thanks for the help bud !

Yes there is a Matr1x based ROM available using the Matr1x kernel...

BTW, you can run whatever ROM you like... Test drive a few and see what catches your eye...

Thank you! Can I remove rom and kernel and go back to stock rom? Also when ICS comes out can I update officially with these rome and kernels running? or will I need to remove them before I do the OTA update?

Sorry I haven't been updating the rom at all. I've been quite busy.

I have requested in my rom thread for a list of features everyone can agree upon so I can add it in for 1.5

if you can please provide me a numbered list of features you wanna see in the next update I would be happy

Paul, I've looked in the settings for extra features for this kernel but didn't notice any. Am I just missing something or is it just a bit early in the game?

Wow i really need help, I finished rooting and flashed the newest version of the matr1x kernel but it wont boot stuck in boot loop i guess, problem is i have no custom rom on my phone that i can flash

If you flashed the latest ICS based 4.03 kernel (v13) then that is your problem. You need to be running an ICS custom ROM in order for things to work with that kernel. Otherwise if you continue to run stock GB and just want the kernel you would have to choose one of his GB based kernels which would be versions v11 and down if memory serves be correctly.
