How do I install this?

You will need to be rooted with gingerbread.
Download the .zip & copy to phone or sdcard (make sure 4g or wifi is enabled if dl'd from phone). Download gapps 2.3.5
download kernel.zip
Zip can be installed from CWM
MAKE A BACKUP
Go to install zip from sdcard
Select zip from sdcard
Select Black-Plague_Connect-signed.zip
Confirm selection
install kernel.zip
install gapps
Reboot
Enjoy!!!

there is a bug with gingerbread recovery that when you factory hard reset (vol. down and power during boot) that creates a recovery boot loop. if you do this, flashing the exitrecovery.zip and rebooting will reboot yer device properly.

edit. another bug i found, you cannot make a backup of this rom. recovery backups' the original stock settings.

1. The exitrecovery.zip doesn't contain the script you "claimed" you modified. It's the same one as before, and it's not the one you linked me the other day. Which one works on the device?

2. I see you added the copyright to the updater-script, but that's not the issue here. I'm trying to figure out just WHAT modified in the script before, other than adding your name.

3. Just include the boot image in the zip.

4. Does it only flash in CWM? If not, don't be misleading. Flash in recovery of choice.

is where i grabbed the exitrecovery.zip. i will take my name out also,lol.

i had no idea he wrote the postrecovery.sh, which is what i edited. if you check the link you will see the original script is different, which is why i added myself.

Q2.when i say "modify the script", i mean i deleted some of the original script from the original exitrecovery.zip i dl'd, and added the the appropriate device specific script for the viper. actually-#!/sbin/sh

Q3.my boot.img is packaged as a flashable zip for convenience

Q4.the only known recoverys for the viper (gingerbread) is joshs and the cannibal open/panda recoveries. joshs' recovery reboot doesnt work. cot wouldnt select any options, it would freeze and selecting would reset to the main menu. this is based on my personal experience and why i decided to compile a recovery. a person capable of flashing a rom is also capable of deciding which recovery to flash it with. i am not posting links to faulty software (or recommending).

anyways. this rom will not "possess" yer device.lol. you can restore to original zvd stock via backup or flash with lgflashtool.metropcs data may or may not work, i will personally look into the issue.

I'm not trying to be a jerk intentionally, I was trying to ask a question and he kept ignoring it. That's all tbh.

Edit: And I have been trying to help out by making contributions to Josh's git repo. It's really hard to do so without the device so usually when I ask the questions I do need a response to help with getting things fixed especially the device tree

a mobile carrier said my viper (w/ black plague rom) can be activated. he said i need to unroot it and after activation i can reroot. metro pcs (corporate) said my area doesnt support cdma but other areas do. cheers*
