Keyboard Cover to fit " 2014 Edition " of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1

The only time I've ever had that problem (which has happened on my Mac) is when the batteries get low. When I get the "battery low" message, I can usually go another WEEK before they're totally dead. So I do. But sometimes, it'll do exactly what you described, so I switch to a fresh pair of batteries and all is good again.

But so far it's worked fine on my Note 10.1 It's just the regular Apple Wireless Keyboard, same one I use on my Mac. I had a spare, so I tried it out. I've also used it on my PS3.

I don't get why these companies don't release a similar attachment to the Transformer Prime (with keyboard and trackpad and usb port) for the Galaxy Note 10.1 and 2014 edition. I just don't get how the idea behind the makeshift "laptop" we see with the Transformer Prime has not taken off like hot cakes. Maybe it's just me but I would drop whatever cash necessary to get something like that for my 10.1 2014 edition.

I have a quick question based on your experience - I cannot get either of the Apple devices nor any other bluetooth keyboard or mouse to work consistently with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. I know that these work with my other Android devices, so it is frustrating to find it not working with the 10.1 2014. On doing a search, I find that this is a widespread problem apparently linked to Android 4.3 devices. Did you have to do anything special to get the trackpad and keyboard to work with the 10.1 2014?
I have a spare Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic Trackpad (both Bluetooth devices) laying around, so I just paired both of them to my 10.1 as a test. Pretty darn cool!! The trackpad is especially neat because it acts as a mouse... you get a cursor you can move around and click on stuff just as if you were tapping on it. I think the better choice might be one of those super-tiny travel mice, but then again, one of those wouldn't work on a picnic table in the woods, whereas the trackpad would.

Now I want one of those keyboard cases too. Come on, Logitech! :)

I decided on this:

I love that it actually a great keyboard for typing and converts to a tablet stand to support whatever I'm using it for. The only issue I seem to have with all bluetooth keyboards is that after a few minutes the tablet renders extra characters. If I were to simply type "character" I'll end up with "charrrrrrrrrracter" and spend time backspacing and correcting. It happens with 3 different keyboards so I think its on the tablet end. It doesn't happen enough to make a unusable its just an annoyance.

on my note 8 i had a issue like that using blutooth keyboards if i had the samsung keyboard selected . it tell you to use the samsung keyboard whenever you pair it to a keyboard. as soon as i swapped back to smart keyboard pro the issues stopped .

maybe that will help somebody else with this problem.

Interesting idea Chevyman. Has anyone tried using a wireless keyboard along with smart keyboard pro or any other keyboard apps with their 10.1 2014? Maybe this is the temporary fix for our wireless keyboard issues?

This utter lack of a decent keyboard cover for the 10.1 2014 is about to be the deciding factor in choosing NOT to get this particular tablet. I have my choices whittled down to the 2014 or the iPad Air. iPad, of course, has a plethora of accessories. I thought that this would too, considering how many accessories were available for other Samsung products right after launch. But here it is, almost Feb. and NOTHING. I'm shopping right now, I don't want to wait a month or even a few weeks for a solution. I really prefer this tablet over the Air, but this lack of a keyboard cover is a deal breaker. I don't want to carry around a separate keyboard. I would have pulled the trigger a few days ago if there was a keyboard cover available.

I noticed in my search that there's one coming from Poetic, but it's not here until March. And of course, that's no guarantee. I've gotten burned before on hoping for accessory releases post purchase, only to find out the accessory never shows up.

Has anybody on this forum found any Bluetooth keyboard that works with the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014? Is there any way of finding out the progress for fixing the problem if the issue is with software and not the keyboards? Would it help if We did a co-ordinated phone call to the Samsung help line?

I am supposed to be picking up my SG Note 2014 32gb in a day or two. However, I am famous for ordering cases and screen protectors before I buy my item, or at the same time. This arrived yesterday.

It is a copy of the Poetic I think.

If it doesn't work, I will send it back. However, I think there is a partial fix listed on XDA..I think that is about disabling the default keyboard.
Anyway, I am not going to let the problem of a bluetooth keyboard stop me from getting the phenomenal tablet.

Right now, counting the minutes till this baby will be in my mitts.. :D

Hi,

Could you please give me the exact Logitech case model number, for Samsung Galaxy 2014 ?

I called Logitech and they told me it would not fit, as the 2014 model is thinner..., than previous model.

Thanks !

I have the Logitech keyboard pictured with no stuttering. There is an application that alters the repeat rate that addresses that issue.

I remember how surprised and happy was when I found out how well bluetooth mice and keyboards work with all my android gizmos. You really can turn your android device into a great netbook-type tools with these.

OMG x 10

I didn't know you could do that on Android.

I have just tried a bog standard USB mouse on my GN3 and it worked instantly. LOL Can't wait to try it on my 10.1

Apple have a lot to answer for.

I have tried my old Logitech DiNovo Edge bluetooth keyboard and it seems to work fine with the 10.1. Even the trackpad and volume slider work properly.

We need to beg Zagg for a case like this one:

I have a Poetic Keybook case for the N 10.1 2014 and it quite frankly isn't anywhere near up to par compared to the Zagg cases. Note 8.0 has one (it's a little on the dorky side); why not 10.1 2014?

I have actually been experiencing the same dilemma. I did find myself a case with bluetooth keyboard that works pretty well and is a good quality build. I will say up front that this case was not designed for the 2014 edition but it doeas fit. There are four rubber loops that grap the corners of the tablet and hold it in place. Quite by accident I am sure, the rubber loop on the upper left corner ( if the tablet is facing you with the samsung symbol on top) the rubber strip from the loop fits between the power button and the volume rocker button. The other thing that I noticed is that there is some sort of magnetic disturbance that tells the tablet that it is in a case and some presets are in place that prevent you from swiping the hotbar down from the top and changing settings like wifi or bluetooth or letting you use the s-pen features. If you want to use the s-pen features you have to remove it from the case. Instead you have to going in through the settings icon on the tablet to make adjustments. Other than that this is a really nice little case and keyboard set I will post a link so you can see it I am more than happy to answer any questions.

I have a 2014 arriving this week and I also plan to use my mac bluetooth keyboard and trackpad when and if i actually need to do some serious writing on it and not just email and notes to myself. for the big stuff i use my mac mini and my macbook air.

Has anyone thought about trying the Zagg Keys Cover for the Ipad air? The Note 2014 and Ipad Air are very close in size, and while the note is slightly thicker, I think that the faux leather backing might have enough give to make it work. The note would hang over on the sides by 1 mm, but the keyboard looks pretty nice and is backlit, which is a nice option. I'm debating if I want to risk buying these two to try it out.

I've been sad that they aren't making good accessories for this tablet especially dedicated keyboard cases. But with the 10.1 tab pro coming out with the same dimensions I'm hoping some will come out soon.
