A quick little 1mb memory saver for anyone who doesn't need extra languages, comes from using phones like the moment where every mb counted, if you edit your LatinIME.apk file, go to res/layout and delete raw-es, raw-fr, and xml-fr, you can cut the size of the apk in half, and change the amount of memory used when running from 6mb to 4.9. Haven't tried it on swype yet but there's some french canadian stuff in there, it'll probably work on it too. Thanks to dc13 for the original idea back in the day.
