Keyboard has stopped

Does any one know how to get rid of this message I cannot use my keyboard. If I reset do I lose eveything my music pics etc? Help I'm ready to scream

I keep getting this message"unfortunately android keyboard has stopped". When I googled it everyone said to reset phone to factory settings. If I do that will I lose everything, my pics, music etc.
Won't let me text its an annoying messase comes on every sceen.

Are you stock and unrooted?
Have you tried a regular reboot (by turning off the phone or taking out the battery)?
As iRillings mentioned, have you tried another keyboard from the play store?

A hard reset (or returning to factory settings will make your phone go back to how it was when you bought it. Unfortunately, there isn't much information in your posts, so it's hard for us to help you.
