Keyboard keeps dropping...

I am using the stock keyboard on my S5. Whether I'm emailing, texting, using an app or googling something the keyboard will just disappear. I tap the cursor to continue typing and it continues to do it. Constantly. Typing this, it has done it 8x already. Any ideas? It's insanely frustrating.

Drops more when I'm typing, but when on browser drops and comes back without me touching it. I tried to wipe the cache, like in that link, and it acts like it's going to work then as soon as I let go of the home/volume up buttons it says error. All I can do from there is reboot.

Do you get phantom screen touches? It's possible a phantom screen touch might be causing the keyboard to disappear.

Is it possible that you are unknowingly tapping the bottom right "back" key, which would cause the keyboard to disappear?.

Phantom screen touch? Enlighten me if you would, I don't think I've heard of that.
And no. I thought at first I may have been hitting the back button, but even when I'm careful, it still collapses. I'd love to fix it without having to wipe my phone.

...and also, my screen timeout has been set on 5 minutes. Always has been. I've noticed it keeps going to 15 seconds. It will not lock on 5 minutes. A factory reset may be inevitable?

A phantom touch is when the screen registers a touch despite nothing touching the screen. That can happen for various reasons, like glitchy software.

Thank you. I've changed to the google keyboard, to see if it would make a difference, and it has not. I'll be taking it to the tech next week.

I took off my s-view case and have not had any issues since. Bummer because I loved the case, but the glitches it somehow may have been causing were too frustrating to keep it on.

Hmm, I wonder if that's a common problem with the S-View case?

I don't have any idea. I kept the case off for a few days then put it back on. No problems to speak of now...other than the timeout/auto dim not wanting to lock where I set it. Keyboard seems perfect, though, for now.
