Keyboard or touchscreen issue?

Hey there... I hope you guys can help. I've been having this problem every so often with my note 2, at least once a day.

While I am typing on the keyboard (in any app), the 'm', backspace, and more rarely 'k' and 'L' keys won't respond to multiple repeated presses. Sometimes I'll press the m key 20 times and it won't register. I don't know if this is a software bug or not, so I tried downloading those touchscreen testing apps. Great, it registers touch in that area of the screen, but this issue still happens once in a while. So the last couple times it happened, I immediately switched to multi-touch test app. It definitely had trouble recognizing touch in that area. This is the first time I've had the issue of touch not registering on the screen outside of typing. I also tried swiftkey and swype, the issue still occurs.

So what do you guys think this means? It might seem obvious that there is something wrong with my screen, but I still don't know if I can rule software bugs out... Could the keyboard possibly cause the touchscreen to bug out in other apps or in other instances? I want to be absolutely sure before I exchange my phone as I have had no other issues, no dead pixels, etc. . I'm just past 30 days with AT&T and I'm not completely sure they'll replace it either. It seems really weird to me that it's only the bottom right corner of the screen. I don't usually notice it unless I'm texting, but when it happens it is extremely annoying.

Does anyone else have a similar problem? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Turn the phone on it's side and use the landscape keyboard, see if you have the same issue. If you are repeating these issues with the multi-touch testing, it sounds like the screen is having some issues, this might confirm that for you. If it all works fine in landscape and then roll it back to portrait and see if it happens.

I have the same problem with my note 2. Backspace and m wont register too. Im always using swype where it frequently occurs. We noticed it also occurs in the home screen and the same spot where the Application drawer is. Any update with this issue? Thanks.

If it's happening in that area even when you're not using the keyboard then it sounds like a physical screen defect.
