keyboard question

I love my infuse so far but this has been bothering me a lot since Ive made the switch. Double tapping the spacebar used to provide a period on my blackberry but not on the infuse. Please tell me there is just a setting for this and I havent found it yet.

Can someone chime in?

In a text field click and hold and an option will come up saying text input. Click it and change it from whatever it on to another keyboard.The android one does what your talking about. You are using the stock Samsung one which sucks and you will find the android one to be much better. You could also try swype as it is pre installed as well.

It's been just a month now for me and the Infuse. I now find myself trying to swype on my iPad. Geez, using a regular keyboard is so last century! )

i like the android keyboard so far the best. swype is too hard to get used to

No problem man. If ya like swipe might wanna try out SlideIT in the market. Personally I like it better than swype as it just seems better and easier to use.

Can't say enough about Swype. COMPLETE game changer for me. Does take a day and a half to get used to, but once you do get used to it... Hooooooo boy, it's FAST. I also found the video tutorials to be very educational. Swype rules!

I have space bar trouble as well, though not due to the space bar not being as wide. My main problem is that if i don't watch it I am always hitting "b" or "v" when I mean to space.

e.g., I might have typed "whenbImean tovspace" had that been on tapatalk and I were not paying attention.

I too have made the switch to Swype...
Like mentioned above, it did take me a day or two to get used to it.
But now that I've gotten used to it, I LOVE it.
Sooo much faster now.

And the best part is that you don't have to be 100% precise where your finger stops. The darn thing seems to know what you want to type. Now, getting double letters is tricky. It becomes easier, though, if you switch to landscape.
