Keyboards... Samsung or GBoard or other?

On advice I got here I switched to SwiftKey. I love it. No more issues with autocorrect or word prediction. I can type in French or English, no issues.

I was giving Samsung Keyboard a chance, even getting Key Cafe from Good Lock to customize it. But only after a few days of using it, I switched back to Gboard. Samsung Keyboard keys looks smaller and thus seem harder to type with (if that makes sense). Also, I find it sluggish and very inaccurate when using swipe to type.

Gboard has always been reliable and feels responsive and fast. I have switched back.

the part about the smaller keys are true. figured that was d reason i was makin so many spelling errors

I've been using swiftkey but I've change to samsung keyboard because I want to use the AR emoji lol, I've been making typo since but maybe the keyboard is still learning my typing pattern and words? I love swiftkey tho not gonna lie

I don't have "sausage thumbs" but have found g board to be more accurate as well.. it's been my preferred for as long as I can remember

is there a way to change key positions on gboard?? like for example, the $ is on the second page of symbols, i would like to bring it to the first page. can that be done?? i cant seem to find it

let me edit this, i seen online there used to be the Google icon top of the gboard to do a search one time. is that still there or been removed cuz i dont have it.

When you long press a letter should give you a short cut?

if i long press 'd' i get the £ instead of the $
now if i press the 123 button (bottom left) the £ is there, if i long press on that then i the other money symbols or i have to go 2nd page of 123.

and i just thought of something, i only have UK English as my language. you think thats d reason. if i add US English would it change or would i have to make US English my default??

i just wish i could change the £ to $ when i long press 'd'

I tend to like Samsung's keyboard. I know many people hate it. It does do some weird stuff like only autocorrecting contractions sometimes, but it will others. I haven't installed any others on my Ultra yet. I'm pretty sure gboard is preinstalled so I may try it out at some point.

Yes! Sometimes it would autocorrect my contractions and I would remember thinking, "WHY?!" LOOL.

so apparently it was bcuz i had UK English as default. just tested it, when i changed it to US English the $ appeared.

so i will have to decide which i want to use.

but is there no 3rd party keyboard where you can custom place any key where you want it to be. ??
