L-O-V-E the kickstand case...never thought about it...Then got my Rezound bundle...The case not only had the kickstand, but also was designed to house the over sized battery.. Not to mention the case itself is strong and seems to protect the most of the glass edges on the phone. Great gripper texture also. Was a deal for around $20
Well i now have no confidence in my slide in holster with this phone.
i worked a 14 hour shift the other night.. in a carpeted building, after i clocked out and on my way to my truck, the phone fell out of the holster, and hit the asphalt3 nice dings on the phone where the case doesnt cover.
my first drop of an android phone for a long time.. i'll be saying goodbye to the current case as soon as i can find something better..i'll miss the kick stand though for sure.
cheers
Did you use the holster in vertical mode or horizontal?
I had a fall too with the holster/case combo, but I attribute my fall to user error (it was in the horizontal position). I think it is much more secure vertically so that you have to slide the phone upward to remove it from the holster.
But I really like the holster and kickstand. It's great for eating lunch and surfing. This is my first Android phone (coming from an iphone 3g) and it's been a great experience so far. The Rezound just seems like such a solid all around performer. To get two phones (one for my wife) for two pennies from Amazon was a great deal. Plus, with switching to Verizon instead of ATT I can actually get and make calls from my office and house. What a concept!![]()
I agree that vertical is much more secure. Horizontal can be dislodged easier, especially over time as the hold gets a little looser. Vertical mount still requires care, when putting it in or removing it from the holster, if you do it too fast, it can slip, or when you are putting it in, you can miss. The other thing is to make sure that the holster is secured to your belt or pant. Tug on it after installing the holster. I once had it clipped to my pant, but not very secute, and the holster and phone got loose. I think clipping it to a solid belt is best.
Amen on the clip check. The clip has a little hook at the end that will stay on a belt, but not really do much on jeans.
As to getting the phone into the holster, I have found that I often use a two handed motion sort of like putting a samurai sword into its sheath. Holster on left side, left hand cupped around top of holster, right hand reaching across with the phone. Obviously that is not always how I do it, but I stated doing it sub-consciously until someone commented to me after seeing me do it. No, I do not own any katanas.![]()
