Kies, Windows7, USB connection issue.

Just downloaded and installed Kies onto our windows 7 laptop, connected ATT Captivate via USB, got this mssg,

Got connected but says phone does not support Kies v2

At a stop right now, can anyone help?

Did you install Kies or Kies Mini?

I first did the most currant version then did mini, the mini connected but it seems to be no more than what the laptop automatic connection does. A raw move file situation.
