I am curious about what you fellow android people think about this Killer Whale that killed the trainer in Florida. What would you do if you had the authority to with what you please? Kill/ Release
Personally I would release the whale and never look back.
BTW. This is like the 2nd or 3rd person this particular whale has killed.

It's not entirely the whale's fault, but 3 trainers is a lot. I would release it. Sea World Orlando is under renovations right now and the tanks are just too small. I was visiting my parents when it happened and they are 30 minutes away. Their news coverage went into detail about the tanks and how it can mess them up. I say Free Willy!

Tragic accident no doubt, but unfortunately, even the most tamed animal in the end is still a wild animal and no one can predict exactly what they're feeling or thinking. I'm not saying SeaWorld does not take care of their animals, but obviously something upset this Whale enough for it to go crazy.

SeaWorld has already said that the whale would never survive if released. I can't believe that destroying the whale is going to solve anything. To be honest, it is silly to have an entertainment show with predatory animals that can kill a human in a matter of moments without a way to stop them. Keeping the whale(s) alive is fine, but stop all of the shows.

I would say neither. It was reported that because of the whales history, there were a select group of trainers that were even allowed to work with it, not to mention the very strict protocol they have when working with these wild animals. The trainer broke protocol by laying on a platform they were supposed to stand on, not to mention she did it on a day when they new the whale was not in a good mood. I have trouble seeing how this is the whales fault. Just my ten cents. Or more like two.

I'm just glad I'm not the one that has to ultimately decide. That's one togh call.

I lean toward release. But, it's been postulated that survival for this animal in the wild is not too optomistic. Flat out killing the animal seems to serve no purpose. Continuing the shows just seems extremely disrespectful of the human life (lives) lost.

I guess that's why they're called "killer" whales. Who'd pay money to see Absolutlely-no-danger whales? I think the root of your question is the debate: Should animals can be entertainment? I say, no. However, I hypocritically pay money to go to zoos and take my kids there. I want them to learn, experience the beauty of nature, and have the safety of fences. But, zoos and animal shows are different things.

So, for me the real question is the not the fate of this animal. But, rather, the future of animal expoitation for entertainment. Or, at least, where does entertainment and education cross the line into exploitation and possibly even abuse?
