i unrooted phone for my wife 2 weeks ago. since then nothing but reboots. i have updated the software and all up to date. but she is getting the reboots all the time. maybe once a day or so.
YES i have searched for an answer but all i have read is from a few years ago about an update coming. well i am up to date with all the software. any ideas? only plan on keeping this phone for a few more months as i am upgrading her phone. but still need to keep her happy.

Since you're looking at dumping the phone soon, why not just re-root it and put it back in the condition it was in when it was working?

not an option for me, had the phone rooted for over a year and to me there isnt the "ONE" perfect ROM. each and everyone had some issue that i didnt like. each phone is different. some roms worked great and flawless, some worked not so good. i was tired of finding that right ROM for me. therefore i gave up and unrooted.

I dunno, if she liked a ROM even marginally better than the current state of constant reboots, and if it's due for replacement soon, I'd just pick the best one you can find and work through the remaining time.

I assume a factory reset was part of the return to stock, correct? Had you experimented with any alternate radio firmware that might need to be reverted our anything? Might also try reformatting the sd card.

You can also try a SIM reprovision (pull the battery and SIM for at least a few minutes) and see if that helps. Probably won't but it's easy and harmless.
