Anyone else noticing that this phone feels a bit sluggish and scrolling in music apps(especially google music beta) and browser seems slow and unsmooth, pretty laggy actually?? Is that blur? Or is that froyo not using dual cores??

Yes i notice it on some sites like newgrounds and such. I really think its just froyo not using the dual cores

Yes, I notice it. but it's inconsistent. Sometimes it feels very fast and the other times it's sort of sluggish. This is with me not changing settings nor adding or removing any apps.

Yea sometimes it feels real fast. Then other times it just freezes up everytime i unlock it or open apps. For some reason the os feels very unfinished lol. Crappy blur. Why cant verizon get a stock android phone. Im tempted to jump ship from this to the htc trophy, atleast it will be a smooth expierience with no bloat

The SonyEricsson Xperia Play will have vanilla Gingerbread OS. As for the rest of the phone,we'll see.....;)

Yea good point but i just dont like the hardware or specs of it, bummer. Thays one ugly phone hhahha. I think something is wrong with my droid x2. This constant freezing and 3 seconds for the lockscreen to register is for the birds

For a comparison the G2X has the Tegra 2 also, and no Blur, and it has no lag. Other issues, yes, but lag isn't one of them.

I had to return mine today because of the lag. I wanted the phone because of the duel core but honestly it was slower than any other android phone I've used. It too 2-3 seconds every time I tried unlocking it and scrolling through the screens and menus dragged. I really wanted to love the phone.

Main lag I see is in the Gallery app. I've had it both lock the phone hard as well as reboot.

I have been using my x2 since Saturday (heavily) and haven't been experiencing the lag you guys are describing. Also i should note that i rooted within a hour of having the phone and i removed alot of bloat apps.

I agree. Im sending this back to verizon friday right after i order the htc trophy. I gotta find a phone that atleast is enjoyable to use, i had the htc inc and it was fine but swapped it for a iphone 4 for battery life, but iphone got old so i waited for this phone, but the freezing and stuff is just unnacceptable so i guess im gonna go with wp7, i domt know what else to do since we dont have any good stock android phones, kinda sad cause i would love to have a sweet android phone :(

Not to disagree with your, obvious, disposable income and the fun it can bring, but you might try a little patience. A lot of issues like these can be solved. There are a lot of forums out there with a lot of people that like to help. Every phone is going to have it's quirks.

I see ur point, and i agree it might be fixed in the future, but i am so tired of seeing these phones get released with these crappy overlays such as blur and rushed out with problems, to me that is unnacceptable to pay that much money for a phone and then have to hope they fix it. I think im done with android until verizon stops ruining these phones with bloatware, 18 bloatware apps..... seriously???? I will let yall know how wp7 is haha

Runs fine, I have only seen Blur lag, which goes away when you use Launcher Pro.

Agreed I forgot to mention before that the first thing I did was clear all the blur home screens and installed launcher pro and set it to default. It runs flawlessly with no noticeable lag. I find 5x7 homescreen grid to be ideal for the large display any how. launcher pro rocks

I bought the first DX right at launch and had a terrible time deciding between it and the Dinc. I had drooled over the Dinc since it had come out, but decided to go with the new hot rod DX, but after 6 months I'd had enough. I won't be buying a moto phone anytime soon.

The software is terrible, and it consistently hitches, even when just swiping between homescreens. Even with launcher pro it just was'n "right". By contrast my friends Incredible with 7 screen full of widgets blew it right out of the water.

I'm getting a phone new phone next month (been using.. hating... an LG Ally since then that was free) and I can't wait to purchase a Droid Incredible 2. I was in the Verizon store yesterday playing around with it and it's even smoother than the first. Sense>>>>>>>>>Blur

remove the social apps, once i did this it seemed to help alot. I think every time you unlock the phone it updates the social apps causing lag.

I had the Droid X, and went to a Thunderbolt. I have to say that even with the Droid X ROM'ed out and overclocked, there is a smoothness to the Thunderbolt that is hard to match. I am really shocked to read that there are issues with the Droid X2.

It has to be Motoblur, or a general poor utilization of the awesome hardware that the X2 has.

After seeing how the Droid X2 is being received, I am really thinking twice about getting a Bionic when it comes out.

Too bad Motorola can't make the hardware and HTC can't make the software (or a pure Google phone.) I even use Sense, which is something that I never would have considered with MotoBlur.

I know that the devs will make the phone as fast/smooth as it should be. It just makes Motorola look really bad.
