Lots of devices with locked bootloaders, lots of very smart devs out there that will figure out how to get past it. Im not to worried that we wont get great ROMs for the device, just might take a little while longer

Who cares? You really made a thread just to tell us that? Not everybody wants to root their devices, maybe we appreciate amazons UI. If I wanted to root, I would have purchased a nexus 7.
