Alright, so I ended up flashing BFS 11. So far it's playin nice with Fresh and SetCPU. However, I noticed something interesting with OCing.... if I go ANY higher than 1152... performance just takes a HUGE dump. Best Linpack and Quadrant results are when I'm OC'ed to 1152. Maybe the EVO can't handle more than that. Thoughts? (I was gonna say it might be that it's a Sense ROM... but Jerzy you're running an AOSP ROM if I'm not mistaken... and seeing the same problem yeah?)

Nah I'm not running an AOSP, I'm running VaelPak, it's a NonSense ROM. You can't use Sense/NonSense kernels on AOSP roms (which are only 2 anyway.). For me, even at 998 it's horrible. I don't know what's the deal but I'm pulling away from Kings for multiple reasons.

But that's odd at even 998 it doesn't run well for you. I guess it really is a finicky kernel.
Now... can anyone explain why when I OC past 1152, the performance dies?
(I wonder if it's anything like a HP/TQ curve on a vehicle... at a certain RPM you peak out, and then it drops off anything past that point)
I doubt it. I think it's the kernel. So far netarchy seems to perform the best. Your quadrants are very low compared to what i've gotten with some other kernels. Look at my thread about kernels. I pulle 1700+ on a kernel with Vaelpak. My linepacks were 41+ as well. It's trial and error. You need to run just about all the apps you use most frequently for about two days before you can start pulling accurate numbers. The best way to figure it is to blast the performance on the phone and bench mark it, then go ahead and tone it down to your average daily and benchmark. My daily benchmark at full performance oc'd (1267) was somethig like 1727.

Well I just ran Quadrant again and I got 1460 (@1152MHz)
Linpack 38.794
Can't seem to get a LP score higher than that.
Perhaps running a Sense ROM is hindering these numbers? Or should I try the Netarchy kernel?
Edit: Okay, I tried maxing clockspeed, running quadrant, and then scaling down one at time, running quadrant again...etc. So far, I'm still getting the best performance at 1152MHz, now Quadrant shows 1486. I'm gonna try this again tomorrow... at that point, I'll have had the Kings kernel on here for 2 days.
I'm on Myn's Rls 2 with Kings BFS 9 with my O/C maxed out and I just got a 1501.

VaelPak isn't an AOSP rom. Its a NonSense rom. Which means its based of HTC sense, it just has the Sense launcher and other sense and Sprint stuff removed. CM is AOSP. AOSP=Android Open Source Project. In other words, aosp has nothing in any way shape or form to do with HTC sense. Just giving you a heads up

Basically. Everything since bfs8 has been crap. The netarchy kernels haven't been as good as I hoped for them to be either. I'm actually back on bfs8 now. Rotogravure how good it was...
My thought on this is they must be trying to figure out how HTC is doing the refresh rate for FPS...

Right there with you too man. That back and forth with Vaelek last night on twitter was ridiculous. Vaelek called him out and exposed him for the true ****head that he is. I loved kings cfs #11 kernel, but ive lost a lot of respect for him. Especially after he tried accusing Vaelek of wanting to leak the kernel.
