Okay, I am so happy right now with KK. There is at least one pet peeve I had that is fixed:
I have been posting recently about messaging. That is, why couldn't I the message app play the individual tones I have selected in my contacts for each person.. I even downloaded textra because it does that. Well now I can get rid of it and use the default because with 4.4 the lg messaging app lets me do that now, also, it updated how to find contacts. It actually brings up my entire contact list from gmail. I am a bit bummed that still on the default launcher, it has the words written across a blank home screen about adding apps. I was hoping that would disappear. I hope to find some more goodies. Oh, and also when you get a call the phone dialer opens a bit differently, its smaller and at the top of the screen. There are some nice subtle changes. Oh, and they finally moved the settings button in the notifications bar to the upper right, where it should have been.

Does anyone know when Nova will get a transparent notification bar?

I know Nova beta has the transparent nav bars. Not sure if the have updated the non beta version or not. It is somewhere in the home screen settings.

Not sure what you are describing, but I did not see anything different, from what I can remember about it before. What is knock code?

Knock code is the new variation of knock on that not only wakes the phone but unlocks it with a pattern of your choosing. It's in the new G Pro, I was hoping it would make its way into the G2 also.

But does the stock app support group messaging now? I didnt check if it did so when I reset my phone, I immediately reinstalled textra and chose the option to make it my default and only messaging app (which I was waiting for in kitkat). If it still doesnt support group messaging then its still useless to me.

Seems you can customize the knock with patterns throughout the screen and up to 8 knocks!!

I will try that tomorrow, as I have to go now. I have been using nova so I only use knock in the navigation bar

I don't see knock code. Its only a pro 2 feature. Otherwise this phone is running like butter now. Plus we have nova transparency now! Skies the limit

I found the transparent setting in Nova, I guess it was always there but before kitkat did not matter for the lgg2. I selected it, and it works fine!

It's certainly not munching my battery by flailing for a GPS signal!

Only thing I noticed is that the caller ID screen on the quickview LG case reacts a bit slow to show who the caller is on the little screen. Everything else seems ok.

LG G2 video demos performance improvements found in KitKat update | PhoneDog

LG has announced a number of new phones in recent weeks that come preloaded with Android 4.4, including the G2 mini, G Pro 2 and the L Series III family of devices. One LG device that's still without KitKat, though, is its flagship G2. The good news is that that'll be changing soon.

LG's U.K. branch has announced that the G2 is slated to begin receiving an update to Android 4.4 in mid-March. The Life's Good crew says that the G2 will gain quite a few enhancements when it makes the jump to KitKat, including more efficient music playback and a battery-saving location mode. The update will also provide a "noticeable speed boost" that LG says will enabled the G2 to run apps up to 17 percent faster.

To demonstrate its speed claims, LG U.K. posted a near 3-minute video comparing a G2 on Android 4.2.2 and another unit on Android 4.4. The KitKat-powered model was speedier in all of LG's tests, waking from sleep with its KnockOn feature 9ms faster than the Jelly Bean unit, snapping a photo 21ms faster and loading the Gallery app 118ms faster than the JB-based G2.

Because the G2 is one of LG's 2013 flagship smartphones, it's always been a question of "if," not "when," it would receive an Android 4.4 update. Some G2 owners may be getting frustrated with the wait for KitKat as they watch devices like the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S 4 receive 4.4 updates, but thankfully it looks like the G2's KitKat bump getting close and that it'll bring some pretty dramatic performance improvements with it. Anyone noticing that they are not able to disable Auto-Rotate after KitKat update?
I always disable auto-rotate in my phones and I think I found all the places where you uncheck autorotate (Settings/general and accessability).
But even with autorotate unchecked, I pull up my chase bank app laying in bed this morning and the darn thing was rotating to landscape.
Anyone else? Thanks.

Yeah, I just noticed it. Also I pulled down the notification bar and toggled on and off at the quick settings a couple of times and it stopped rotatiing. :/
