kit Kat update for Tab 3 8.0 wifi

Well after just 3 hrs of using the kit kat update I am seriously not impressed. It has changed the way a lot of games work for the worse, decreased the functionality of my email and locked me out of my skype account. Have not noticed anything that has improved but at least I am not having problems with my touch screen as some have mentioned. If only I could go back to Jellybean.

After messing with download everything seems good except video app keeps crashing. Anyone else having this problem? Other then that it seems great even my screen seems crisp and brighter. Everything seems to be moving smooth. I did notice more RAM is being used now dont understand why its suppose to use less with this update

Which model are you using - T310 or other?? What country version did you flash - UK or other?

I just downloaded the update now. but didn't install yet. After reading some of the posts in this thread I am seriously wondering if I should?

Anyone on AT&T seeing the update for the Tab 3.0 7"?

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using AC Forums mobile app

I feel the same way......I think I'll wait until I hear some positive reasons to update. My Tab 3 8.0 has worked flawlessly , hate to screw it up now.

Just noticed that the update has started downloading via wifi - ~ 691MB so it's going to take awhile. FWIW. I'm currently located on the Central Coast of California.

Are you saying the tablet is faster after the upgrade? Just to be sure, you are talking about the Tab 3 ?

Yeah I just updated last night (couldnt resist) and the tab 3 8.0 wifi is definitely faster and smoother after the kit kat upgrade. It doesnt seem to like sd cards too well though. It wont let my voice recorder app record to the card and also gives this annoying message in the notification shade upon every boot up about having an sd card installed.
also the battery icon is now white and it has just a general different (albeit slightly) look and feel to it. Overall I think it is worth going for the upgrade. If nothing else it breathes new life and interest in what was becoming a slightly old and increasingly more boring device.

Well have used the update for a day or so and have found some of the changed settings that were messing up my email so it is working now but looks a lot mor basic with basic grey icons and no numbers to say how many messages are in each section. As Bronsko it has a notification about having an sd card inserted every time it is turned on. Have not got my Skype back yet but still trying and am only allowed 3 tries in 24 hours. Not noticed any speed increase on anything and some things seem slower plus some games dont work. Suppose I will just have to live with it.

That's weird because the one thing I definitely notice is an increase in speed when just generally navigating around the tablet.

I downloaded kitkat 4.4.2 yesterday here in Seattle on my tab3 8.0 and nothing changed. Still the same Jelly Bean lock screen and home page wallpaper, even though Settings}device shows 4.4.2.

Is your skpe working okay?

Besides internet speed, what are some of the other positives you have noticed?
