Has anyone notice better battery life after updating to KitKat? I just side loaded the factory image last night. As of right now I don't see a difference.

It is better, nothing major , but the last three days I turning my phone off to charge at 65% rather than my usual 56%.

After a few days I am noticing better battery life when the phone is idle. There is zero difference when I am actively using the phone.

Battery life in KitKat 4.4 in my Nexus 7 is awful. With Jelly beans, my Nexus 7 2013 in idle mode lost only 4-5% of charge over the night, with Kitkat it loses around 20%. WTH! Is it because I am using Google Experience Launcher? I have also disabled the all time OK GOOGLE listening thing, but still I don't know why it eats up the battery in idle mode. Any tips?

I have a N5 and have noticed, as said above, that 4.4 seems to preserve battery much better when the phone is idle/off. I have updated my old N4 to 4.4 + GEL (which my wife is now using) and it seems to get better battery life on idle also.

Battery life is slightly better, I can get a good 4-4.5hours screen on time.

If you switch to ART which is not optimized yet the battery life isn't so good and maybe the phone a bit warmer too, but worth it for the performance gain.
