Kitkat update LG G2

So I am new to Android, coming from a iPhone the past 4 years and had some questions about updating. My phone is on 4. 2. 2 and I am on at&t and from reading online I had thought the update was available for at&t users? But my phone says it's up to date. My next question is when updating will it show up under my settings or will I go somewhere else for it?

You should be able to update to kit Kat. I have the AT&T LG G2 and was able to update when it came out. Just keep trying by going through the settings to update.

I figured out a way to trick it, I kept changing the date and went from D80010o to D80010q and now kitkat is finally updating! Just took a little brain power and trickery haha. Thank you!
