I cant seem to make it work... i dont know where each file goes on my sd card. I have the droid root helper and that is where i keep getting stuck.

Here are the instructions what have you done sp far, do you have the recovery
image?

Installation:
Install my recovery image (required) and restart into recovery. Press the menu button to bring up the menu.
Choose "install zip from sdcard".
Choose cyanogen_sholes-ota-eng.koush_{VERSION}.zip.
Restart.

I used Droid Root Pro
It uses a completely different Tools folder that allows you to flash that image.

Is this a themed ROM?

So if I download the droid root pro, it will all work? My question is where do I put the 2 files. Do I unzip(extract) the file??

If your using Droid rootpro put the Recovery image in your tools folder and the ROM in the root of your sdcard

Okay put the image file in the Tools folder
Just drop it in there.
When you download it, it has an .htm at the end. Change that to .img
Then place the actual rom in the sd card root.

Oh and here is the funny part. When I installed this rom, I started off in German. It took me about 30 minutes to change it to engrish!

I'm assuming your using dxtop or does the rom have the option for the 5 icons on all screens.

Yeah its dxTop.
The Launcher 2 is still buggy (atleast for me) and the live wallpapers will not interact with the Home.
So dxTop it is for now.

how would you guys compare this to somthing like droidmod 1.0. I am getting bored with it currently and would like to change to something faster overall and maybe different features.

you know what would be a good idea (though it probably not worth it) if there was either a thread or it own forum within the droid hacks/roms forum that had video reviews for new roms. this would def help organize peoples questions and comments rather than posting multiple threads about the same questions or comments (not saying this thread but just like how when sholes mod came out and there were threads accumulating that were asking and saying the same things over and over). If i was more experienced in with modding the droid with roms/hacks and also if i had a decent web cam i would def make a video here or there but seeing as i am not and dont have a good enough quality camera im kind of luck. I dont know, just an idea.

anyway back to the topic (sorry for going off topic) since it seems like a few of you have had it running for a good solid day or so, what would you say is the final verdict on this rom?

Its very fast and stable. Definitely better than DM. This is the rooted version of the official with more goodies.

sound pretty worthy of trying it out. Tell me if im wrong but from what i have read on this forum, you usually try out a good amount of the new roms but are not truely satisfied with them. You usually go back to stock, right? if i am right then this rom must be really good if you are still using it.haha

So true. However I love this ROM. I had DM for 4 days. , Bugless beauty for a week.

haha well DA6 you are giving me high hopes. If i am currently satisfied with droid mod then this rom is gonna blow me away. what are some specific features or improvements that make you like it so much? or is just an overall speed thing where everything is just really snappy? i really wish they could get the launcher2 to work without any issues. i havent tried the launcher2 before but i did try the first one and it was not really that smooth. though, from what i read on a forum (i forget which one) that the launcher2 issue might just be with specific phone builds. don't quote me on that cuz im only going by what i have read which is not hard proof but i figured i would throw it out there.
